in the specs for headphones you need to be looking at this "+/-"if it says "+/-3dbs" or less, they are very balanced phones/moniters.... that means its it never wavers on average more than 3dbs above or below the line....

but with phones, due to the proximity of the sound source the high mids are usually dipped and the bass is boosted to compensate for the lack of "feel"

so a +/-3dbs on moniters is pretty sicko, but on phones the sound would not be balanced...

so in the first picture example the specs would be for frequency range 35-20000 +/-5dbs

which would make them denons in theory pretty good... as you can see there is a big dip of about 10dbs in the high mids, hich is pretty normal, meaning a fairly balanced top but weak bass as there is no boost....

i think! haha

i believe the Sony's are all built the same way... the headbar wiring is fine... all u need to do is change the speaker part... i would go to the store and check the 600s... if they match up, then get the 600s.

i i had 2 Sony's with each having one blown speaker... i checked which was in the best condition, and soldered the other to that one... put the ear pads on them, and the look brand new again... took about 1/2 hr.
