lol, seeing all these comments, I have to actually say, I didnt find the track too bad.
and Im one of the biggest southern hiphop haters. Or maybe my taste has just gone mental.
To be honest the auto tune was minimal. I know it was generic southern hiphop, but I really didnt find the beat too bad, maybe a little repetetive.
Put that into perspective with what Guru used to be and yeah its a poor effort on his behalf. But by todays standards, I thought it was pretty good.

I hate guru now.

i'm getting a bottle of vodka, a revolver, and a bullet for tonight
lmfao
I sort of started to dislike Guru from Jazzmatazz, as soon as Premo wasnt behind him, it wasnt working in my opinion. But I still hold to what I said about this new track.

Wow one of my favorite rappers ever makes 1 crappy song to attract attention and now he automatically loses everyones respect that hes been building since the 80s. hmm...

thats the nature of the beast that is hiphop. He can recover from this.
LL Cool J did after "I Need Love". It can be done after blatently selling out. Hes the proof.

He's embarassing himself. Plain and simple. He's latching onto this Solar guy as if he's gonna turn into the new Premo. He's not.

I'm thinking Guru is having a midlife crisis.

Not at all, atleast not for me.. Guru will always have my respect for what he has done...
If he were to call me up tommrrow i would still jump at the chance to work with the cat.

But its not one bad song man, its been going down hill for a couple of years now with this cat. For me, this is the straw that broke the camels back...

Yeah I feel ya bro, his quality of work has been diminishing through the jazzmatazz series. Sucks to see him stoop to that level though, especially after its coming from the same cat that made Mass Appeal. I know Primo could easily do some dope work with him again.

ha i need love was hot

maybe im in the minority here, and no disrespect intended, dude is a legend, but i never thought Guru was that great of a great rapper. He had dope lines every once in awhile but he has a plethora of simpleton and nonsense lines. he is the type of rapper u can guess the word he's gonna use at the end of the line. I hate when i can do that.

lol. I feel the same way. I said that in the lab one day and I thought Fury and P were gonna have a heart attack. Mad respect to Gangstarr. But Ash is right. Many non nonsensical lines and easy wordplay.

LL didnt hafta recover from "I Need Love"... that was the 1st Hip Hop love song imo...that put him in tune with even MORE girls... that helped him branch out.

ive always felt Guru was a basic rapper... he's got some good joints, and Primo WAS makin the beats... hot beats will always make a rapper sound better.

I'll have to agree with Nomics on this one. Yes we all think it sucks...and rightfully so...we're comparing this with his classics......He is trying to stay relevant in the game...and he might not have made enough money he needed to retire....

Sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures.....

I wouldn't bump any of his new shit...maybe this is a wake up call for him to throw in the towel.....

if guru from step into the arena/hard to earn era could steal a delorean and warp into 2009 and heard what he was doing, he'd slap himself in the face and eat his timbos.

i didnt think jazzmataz was all that bad but not nearly as good as part 1 (due to mc solar and miles).

chuck d kicked the simplest of raps... I thought "How You Sell Soul..." was a great album though. I'd liek to point out that these two men accomplished more in their first 2 years in the biz than 99.9999% of us ever will, regardless of how you feel about their flow/rhymes. As the saying goes, "nobody likes a wordsmith".

But just because you need to make money doesn't really mean that you need to sell out.

Hell if guru and primo teamed up for another gangstarr album I'm sure they'd turn a mad profit... I don't see why this was necessary.

Dam.....I stepped in late on this one, been mad busy with Website/Graphic stuff......
All i gotta say is nothing lasts forever I guess, Im starting to accept this more and more as I get older.
Still, dude is a legend and certainly has had an enormous influence on countless individuals including myself.

Sucks to see the good ones get sucked in to the hype.
