Got an Idea

Is there anyway that I can copyright an idea for a tv show? Me and a buddy of mine have a great idea for a TV show but we have no idea where to start as far as protecting our ideas. I'm not sure if protecting an idea is even possible. Maybe god or shadeed can help me with this.

Im sure as long as you have some sort of tangible medium to show proof it can be copy righted

Wite down the idea on a paper, put it in an envelope preferably with a pic of you holding it in a post office, with the date and time visible in the picture, then leave it with a lawyer for safe keeping.
Also keep a record of everyone you send the idea to.
The media is full of sharks, you can never go too far to protect your ideas.

I was researching the same type of thing.... I have alot of ideas for movies, games, music.... So I wanted to see if there was a step by step on what to do. ehow pretty much has anything you want to know to an extent. They actually have a good step by step for song writers and how to market yourself as a song writer.
