Glide Effect?

i think its called the glide effect...

it works on some vsti's ive used, you know when your hitting keys on a controller or whatever and lets say you go from B to C, and instead of hearing the keys play one after another, you dont hear it switching keys, it just goes from B to C like the pitch just shifted up or something. i dont know a better way to explain it, but anyway, if you catch on, is there any plugins or anything i can use on FL to get that effect

its called portamento. FL has it built in.
its in the main FL channel options, cant remember which tab. but theres something about portamento, and a few settings
and u can have that on any channel, soundfont, vst, wavs

one thing about the portamento function, is there a way to get the glide effect on the first note you hit?

like you know how you hit one note then it glides into the next instead of getting "hit"... can it glide from like beginning of the first note hit

errm, dont think so.

but a work around could be:

play a note on the last beat of the bar before your first note. so your first note of the bar will be glided into. then use automation to turn off the volume for the preliminary note, and then on again for the first bar. may work

another work around, would be to increase the attack slightly for the first note, it wont give a glide effect, but the note will ease in more

or play two bars,export wave and insert first note of the second bar as a sample aight

kinda takes away the ability to change different things but at least i can work around it, thanks
