FTP Programs...

anyone recommend a good ftp program? I want one that will help me create links easily.

no. I have one with my site host. Just not too savy wit FTP.

I use filezilla just upload the file in whatever directory you want then the link will be the domain name slash folder name slash file name. For example:

http://www.domain.com/folder/irock.mp3

using it now. Just got off help chat wit my provider too. My issue now is that when i create the links, it asks for a login info 2 d/l. I just want to be able to email a link and have the receiving end download with no issues. Ugh.

I have a connection, but I uploaded my mixtape and a project wit dream police and when I create a link to send out, it will require login info. GAY

Who are u hosting with? Some free servers will put locks on certain things like allowing others to download files, etc.

It looks like you still dont have a index file going yet, you might wanna do at least a basic text html file with the link on it.

Right flick on the folder and go to properties then change the permissions to 777

If you're using FireFox then use the FireFTP program, it's dope. But ya if it's asking for a login then your host is fucking with you.

I used to use FireFTP or something along those lines that was integrated into firefox, now I use SmartFTP, very good program

Well it sounds like the FTP program Stress is using is working fine so suggesting other programs for him to use is moot at this point.

It sounds like your problem lies with your host more then anything else man.

I agree, you may try in filezilla right clicking on the actual file and making sure that is set to 777 as well. If that does not work call the hosting company. You can also try dropbox.com for items under 2gb
