Freak the EPS 16+

anybody out there using Ensoniq EPS 16 +, need tips on how to freak samples, I know how to loop a sample, I wanna chop it up into different hits, thanks

U cant really cut up samples, but there are many wayys to freak samples on that machine.

I got an EPS 16 the way I freak samples is copy the sample to another key on the keyboard and start it at a different point but the EPs's aren't really made for phrase sampling

YES you can. Load the phrase you want to freak. Create another instrument. Create a new layer in new instrument. Go back to the phrase and decide on the first part you want to single out by adjusting the start and end points. Copy the adjusted phrase to the new instruement. Truncate the adjusted phrase in the new instrument. go back to original phrase and repeat...if you've got a melody that you want to flow in a certain order, then to make things a little quicker, take note of the numbers of the beginning and ending of an adjusted phrase. After truncating the phrase in a new instrument, just go back to the original, extend it back to it original ending, and push the start point to the same number you noted when you adjusted the end point. ALSO, there is layering, filters, resampling with effects, LFOs, the 3rd envelope...how can you NOT freak a sample in the EPS-16+ is the real question.

lol...ironically enough, the manual is helpful for a lot of details and possible experimentation. I've only studied it doses over the years, though.
