found an old ass beat machine at the junkyard

i went to the junkyard to get sum parts from my car and i noticed this thing wit buttons on it chillin in a beat up van. so i went over and i took a look and shit looks like an old ass beat machine to me. it had a start switch,an audio input and output, a tempo knob and each button represented a certain style of drumming like bossa nova ,rock n roll , etc . the model seems to be autorythym by hammond . anyone know anything about this piece? it had latches on it so im guessin it attached to a piano or organ or sum shit

no i didnt buy it cuz i was broke as shit. only reason i was there was to swipe sum connecters for my engine which sucks cuz i woulda bought the shit just to find out whut it does

I'm pretty sure its one of those beat machines artists used to use to create simple backing tracks for live performances - to play along to or just as an accompaniment...you know, like a guitarist or something doing a low-key gig in a pub might have used one [quite a few years ago....]
