Download the demos. This is something you need figure out for yourself, due to the fact that these 2 programs are quite different in how they function and what they actually do.

Acid pro 5, of course!

The main things I like:

1. It clealy displays loops and tools (easy chopping directly on clipboard)
2. The plug ins are easy to use + excellent sound quality (Add WAVES Bundle....WATCH OUT!)
3. The buss feature
4. Time strech and note changing

Does acid 5. have a way to setup your drum patterns? like fl 6?

yeah... you could. But you wanted a "stand alone" sequencer, right? With ACID there is no need to rewire. ( Although I have rewired to Ableton Live once or twice)

See, i tried to figure out Acid, but my main thing is..

Do i have to do pure piano roll for the melodie? because when i hit record, it seems to me that i HAVE TO have a midi controller. ANd, my problem is that i only use a virtual pc midi controller. And, what about the sounds? Can't i use my 8058 kits?
