It's pretty expensive to live here. Also, $1000 a week goes to groceries, cigarettes, gas, lunch (school), and bills.

1000 a week is good if its just you and maybe someone else, but shit if you have two kids and a wife a house, car payment, food, gas, other bills, that is making enough to live pay check to pay check or at least where i live.

1000 a week isnt much .. i make slightly less than that .. i got a wife who doesnt make much and no kids thank god.. ... to be truly comfortable, even in brooklyn (forget manhattan), u gotta be clearing like 80,000 a year imo by urself. right now i make like 48,000 and change at my day job and that aint shit in my book. I make money producing but that has really slowed up since i been working nonstop on the album. but now im basically finished with that so im back in my grizzly. my goal is to get to 100k + somehow before i turn 30. In this economy, saving is like impossible.. i feel like every dollar i get just goes right back to bills,credit,music , and my school loan. there is nothing left over.
on a related note the middle class and lower middle class has it the worst. In some cases, your better off being below the poverty line than above it. If ur below the poverty line, u can practically go to school for free. (I work at a college so i know this stuff). Graduate with a degree and very little debt if any esp if u go to a state or city college. ur also in the lowest tax bracket. They even have a fairly new program in ny state where u can get further tax benfits on ur education. Get a good job after graduating and its all good. Money straight to your pocket. however, a middle class cat is gonna have to take mad loans and other bullshit to go to school. They come outta school head high in debt.
