Eqing a sample to bring out the bass

ive been messing around with a sample the already has bass in it trying to make the bass stand out more. Im using pro tools and the basic eq plug-ins from the program, any tips of on how i can achieve this?

If you want to bring out the bass copy the sample to a new channel/track/whatever then cut the highs and boost the lows.

So you have the original and on another track you have the sample EQ'd.

I do this a lot and it works great. Don't overdo it though because muddy bass sounds worse than no bass.

double up the sample and use a lowpass filter on the copy of the track.so u have one copy with the normal and one with heavy filtered bass.this should do the job.good luck.
