im somewhat new with hardware, and i did have a microkorg that worked within fl, but i just picked up an emu mo phatt at gc today and i have an m audio uno usb midi interface, how can i get this to work with my mo phatt, i was demoing all their sounds, and it blew me away, im very happy i decided to get this, but i just cant get my controller to recognize the mo phatt, what am i doing wrong?
i have the midi ins/outs from the mo phatt going to the computer via the usb, do i have to buy another uno and plug it in from the cpu to my midi controller?
or is it just easier to buy a midisport or an all out interface?

your suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated
peace

well remember man midi isn't sound its just control data...from that post it sounds to me like you don't have the audio outs (balanced or unbalanced 1/4'' most likely) hooked up to anything, correct me if i'm wrong.

i don't own a mo phatt but i imagine it works the same as anything else. connect its stereo audio outs to 2 ins on your audio interface for the audio, and connect its midi ports to your midi hub/controller. then you just gotta configure the right ports and inputs in your sequencer, and u should be good to go.

thanks for replying, first off, when i had my microkorg, i had my audio cable from the korg going into my line 2 on my cpu, and it worked fine, i still have my audio cable from the cpu but i put it in the left out, because theres left and right, so how would that work? would i need different cables?

you really gotta get an audio interface imo, even if its just a mbox mini or something. line ins to your cpu are low quality and you're only getting one channel (L or R) so that could be an issue...

This will only work if the have a Emu soundcard or interface.
Will not work with M-Audio soundcards.

well first off yeah m-audio makes a good one for about 150$
i boutgh one when it first came out and i payed 1000$ for it
but it has all the in puts and out puts
rca,1/4,fiber optical/midi
i have the mo-phat and the motif rack mount
and i have them hook up omn my mpc and my midiman keybaord
and everything works
i used a method call daisy chain threw mid
but first thang is first u have to have the audio out puts going into a mixer or the inputs on the computer
after thats
if u want it to be used and connnect u must go midi thru
thats the best way to tranfers multiple midi hard ware
so for example
i have my keyboard mid out put going into the mid in put on the mo-paht then tak e ya mid thru and conect to the midi cables on ya computers' input midi line
if it doesnt work that way then hook the mid thru into the midi in on ya keyboard
its easier to do this method with the mpc
because it has two midi in/output
so it lets me hook up two modules and able to control them threw my midi keyboard
but keep in mind mid is only for tranfering u still gonna need a mixer or something that has inputs so you can monitor the mo-phats outputs
sodont waist money on buying a sound card if you dont need it
it sound s to me like u need to invest on a mixing board if you are gonna mess around with the hard ware and multiple modules and ect. then you can hook up the mixing board to ya computer!!
or get an m-box or a good sound card thats supports the rite inputs that are required to hear the mo-paht
which are 1/4 plug
if need any more help holla!!
ive been using the mo-phat since it came out and the motif rack
but know ui just put them to rest dot to the fact of reason3.0 powers

good info wizard, but in the manual, since you have it, it shows that i can get a male rca to male phono cable and plug from the mo phatt to my amps auxilary, so that should take care of the audio right?

i really dont want to buy a mixer if i dont have to, because im only working with one piece of hardware right now
