Peace yall,

been a while. i've been preppin a beat sampler but i have one major hang up. i'm tweakin the tracks to get them as crisp as possible. but one thing i notice when i import my samples to cakewalk and as i copy and past certain samples in the places i need them, the levels change. even though i eq'em where i want them..the same sample that play before the variance, for examples, sounds a lil louder or different when it plays again after the variance in a track. anybody familiar with this type of issue or knows how to remedy it? Peace.

That's weird! I know with Pro Audio 8 and 9, when I would copy a sample, then tweak the first copied clip, the other copy would change as well.

Is this only a problem with Cakewalk? I mean, you're sampling stuff into your sampler, then importing it into Cakewalk, right? How are you copying the clips?

When you say it sounds different, is it only with clips that you applied FX to?

no, in most cases it's clipse that i've eq'd the low-end up for the bass.

it's not all the clips i've copied from the original that i import in like for example

i have the main sample play for 16 bars, i'll have bassline play for that same 16 bars. then chorus for 8 bars. go back to the mainloop and bassline is louder than the main loop.

Is it possible that you've copied clips on top of each other by mistake?
I admit to having done that before. but this isn't the case. i also that if clipse arent lined up exactly it'll a loud or like an echo. both of which are not the case. what mixing software would you prefer? i think i wanna try to up a track into another program and see how it turns out

it could be a few things for ex. sonars audio engine to sound forges engine sound forge just be more robust... plus the voulume on sonar is default to where you have tweaked in sound forge.
try boostin the vol use trim and vol slap a comp or eq on it and play around what you got to lose?

appreciate the advice. i've been running my beats thru sonar 4, which the precision in sequencing the clips is a lil more precise that homestudio. in some cases it's been where some clipse where not synch is tightly as they should have been...some it wasn't. Sonar 4 is puttin out everything quiet evenly.
