whenever I have a combination of workstation/sampler it comes from me being an old skooler and all around gearphile, in other words back in the day it was great to have a sampler but then if you wanted to play some key riffs or synths you needed a workstation to complement the sampler so thats when the mpc / triton or trinity setups really started taking hold and making sense to justify gear....you say that emulator is your ASR 10 replacement thats cool.....but I dont know if there is a replacement for an ASR 10 LOL...that emu all in one card you have should be able to do everything you are going to do with the mpc......
I am thinking especially if all you are doing is using cubase to trigger the sounds and sequence and using the mpc as a sound module.....if you are doing this and not actually banging out patterns on the mpc....I see no real use for it if you have that emu card.....but if you like to make patterns on the mpc and use it in conjunction I dont see a problem keeping both....but if you are like me, once I see a piece of expensive gear in my setup not being used I liquidate it quick and either get something I really need or keep the cash......thats like me having my motif es and the fantom XR......I found myself underutilizing the Fantom and I sold it because I was using more of my ES soundsets from most of the tracks......you need to ask yourself the questions though.....how much and how will I use the mpc main sequencer or sound generater slaved to cubase?? if I am using cubase as the main sequencer and editor you are theoretically using the mpc as a sound module which you can load those same samples up on your emu and not worry about have to record the mpc outputs back into your sound card......the mpc is not being fully utilized in your setup and maybe you can do without it.

Sounds Good, well I have to say that during my ummmm in between gear which i have used gear since the 90s's...but during the in between gear days I made a ton of beats with Reason and Fruity only because I was sort of forced to for awhile, some of you thats been on ill at least 3.5 years or so remember them days of pain LOL anyhow, many people were feeling my beats a lot more for a few reasons....sonic quality and just all around feel and arrangement....but of course I could not wait to get back to my normal gear set up which after those dark ages I reclaimed all of my old gear but the whole while only really dabbling with Fruity Loops here and there and then finally in Version 4 I paid for the producer edition after using a copy of the demo and having had version 3 for the longest...I had to have that mixer and then boom it worked will with my waves plugins.....i made some more beats on there but not a whole lot....why?....of course my gear LOL, my inseparable babies...mpc 3000 & mpc 2000 and a decent workstation (which by the way over the last 3 years and plus I owned (fantom S, Fantom XR, Triton Extreme, sp1200 and sp12, motif classic and the motif ES and I probably did leave a few pieces off to save space) anyhow with a better PC and Protools Fruity Loops is touching and surpassing mostly all that gear because the sequencing and arranging is much more flexible.....and not to mention now I SAmple all of my sounds from the motif, the Fantom and anything I pipe in via midi to fruity loops....instead of using midi for the mixdown I just track the audio from the Motif or whatever external sound source then I dont have to worry about midi timing or delay etc that used plague older versions of fruity if you used external gear or had a weak PC......once you start using the program with HIGH QUALITY SAMPLES or Synths the sky is the limit I am pretty much going to be using this program for a lot of my tracks for the most part in conjunction with my external modules & workstations.....

Fl Studio/emulator X Studio Combo

I would recommend fruity loops to anybody who is serious about t creating there own sound.Your right the arranging & sequence features are off the wall.Shit the piano roll has a chord feature where you draw in the chords you want too.

I'm using the emulator x studio software sampler and I can do everything with that records samples, sample vst plug-ins,loop edit, auto choppin, time stretch/pitch sihft and crazy amounts of effect and filters. So when I'm doing creating my samples I can play them into the fl studio 6 piano roll and arrange how ever i want.

FL STUDIO is the production game best kept secret alot of big producer's downgrade it but its not what you use it's how you use it.

Any FL STUDIO advice or tips?
