What are u implying there big guy!?...lol.
IMO if theres any dust accumulation on your mics diaphragm its prob not going to inadvertently effect its recording performance to the point where its an issue anyways.....unless ur house is a pigpen and you get serious blankets of dust on your gear I wouldn't even bother.

Canned air is harmless...Ive used it for years.

^^^ find me one studio that leaves their mics like that, they'll all tell you to put it in the box...just in case anything might happen to it.

Word, most just have a mic cabinet where all the mics go when not in use. But the original box or protective box that came with it is where I always keep my mics.

I completely agree. My mics don't come out of the box unless used, but its based of his request and preference.... so we can enforce something that he doesn't want.

hehe im very resolute on studio principles, i could never comply to something that states the opposite to something logical. We got some experienced people on this board, if people ask for advise then give proper advise. If he doesnt want to put it back in the box then just plce a plastic bag over it...why bother what you put over it lol

Im thinking a shirt would look pimp over it if you had your group logo on it. Dude we could market Mic protectors.... I think I could sell a few....

Yeah Id either take it down each time or use a Crown Royal bag like Kontents said or even a fucking sock! Shit, whatever works dude.

Rule of thumb is, if your not going to be tracking relatively soon your gear should be put away until the next time its needed.
