i dont think there is a Software that Creates Drum Patterns for you ..... altho in Reason u can Play out ur Drum pattern.. and Highlight them and go to change events and it will alter the notes Randomly each time and give u a New Drum pattern (or at least lead u to new drum pattern idea)

Actually now that i think about this.. damn near all the multitrack recorders does this aswell

learn the basics man like make beats to start off with just 'keeping time' with 8th's hats snare on 2 and 4 kick on 1 and 3 etc. then start moving your kick around. good bpm to learn at (depending on type of hip hop) is about 95 (i'm talking boom baps).

hard times? what else is new.
Put some of your beats up at the showcase and ask for some feedback about your drums. It is just fucking around, there are no rules and if i were you wouldnt go look for a specific style just evolve your own.

Making a drum pattern is not that hard, man

Making an original one, or a catchy one is what's hard...

Listen to most of Dr Dre's drum patterns, they are mostly really simple... specially the hard, grimmy beats... I'd suggest you listen to other tracks and try to copy their drums... when you get used to it, try to mix them up by moving some of the kicks around... Or do as 2_nice said... start with something real simple and go from there...

^ very true

another thing is make sure ur tucking your drums correctly and using the correct amount of Swing this way it sounds a nice groove to it ya know because simple drums can sound sooo incredible with tedious things like takin the time to mix them correct

If your asking whether any software has pre-programmed patterns ready to play back and edit, I doubt there is any software like that around. Your probably best to look for pre-recorded drum loops available through many developers like Acid or ModernBeats.com or any of the numerous loop developers on the net or from retailers.

For reference: The LM4 MKII drum machine for Cubase, which is a Vst plug-in, is awesome and easy to use for sequencing drum patterns with both preset and found samples. If you ever look into getting Cubase, you can't go wrong. It takes a little bit of time to learn the program but it pays off.

If you don't want to program drums you should purchase some break beat CDs and chop them up for variation if you'd like.

This tops the cake, listen, to all the newbies out there, you have got to do some work, everything aint fuckin easy and it shouldn't be. I mean come on do you want a fuckin robot to make the beat for you???? Use your talent, innovate, study, learn, don't take shortcuts, it takes years to become a master, I'm tired of seeing all these questions about how to make a fuckin beat, how to play a note on a keyboard, kids LEARN, LEARN, LEARN. Don't ask trivial questions your wasting time, computers make it even easier for you, shit when I started there was no computer, I used two tape recorders and overdubed continously to make my tracks and the shit still sounded alright. Maybe I'm just buggin out but I'm sick and tired of all these questions that just shows that these guys aren't even trying, they want a free ride into Hip-Hop. This reduces the quality of our music, learn your skills, show your worthy, show some talent, god damn!

Yeah, but it kinda defeats the object of being a music producer.

But if thats what you're looking for, then the VST Steinberg Groove Agent 1 or 2, does exactly what you're asking for. All you have to do is pick an era and a style and it has 1000's of alternative drum patterns, with fillers etc. It covers every major genre over the last 50 years.

It will also sync any drum loop or pattern to the bpm of your sequencer and ocne you grow out of pre-programmed loops, you can use the sounds included to make your own loops.

Good Luck.....<ahem> producing
