Don't really care for young money or drake much, but I agree with you he would fit better with roc nation imo. But so much for him saying Young Money is his family for life last time the rumor popped up lol

So jay z doesnt need to battle rap when he can just steal your cash cow? If this guy pulls this off he's the gordon gecco of rap lol

But Drake and autotunes went so well together...lol. Im not a Drake or YM fan either...Im not so sure this would be a good decision on Drakes part. He's pretty much established himself with YM, the change may hurt him.

Oh well. I think Drake did a smart move, mainly because he's not that type of rapper that YM represents...that whole gangsta shit isn't his forte....

I don't feel that YM is dropping "gangsta shit" like that so I don' believe that's the reason. Drake wants to be "The man". His ethnic background alone (if u know it..lol) won't allow him to play second fiddle for an extended period of time, especially to a "brother".

If he leaves you'll probably hear a totally diff't sound coming from him. I said waaaaaaaaaaaay back when me and Ash got into deep discussion about Drake that he was mimicking Wayne big time to grab a slice of his fan base and move units. He's been slowly moving away from that style since. Nothing wrong with that, but I never thought we were hearing nor seeing the "real Drake". He camouflaged himself to get where he wanted to be. Now that he feels he's there he wants to show exactly who the "real Drake" is. He's not that "borderline street dude" but of course most of us already knew that!

I dont think his music will change too drasticly...maybe get a lil softer...It seems like him and 40 are in their own world over there cause their records dont sound like anything else going on down there.

I'm just sick of this lulaby ish that they keep calling or branding as Hip Hop. Some of his music I can appreciate I even brought Thank Me later but all this damn singing is not Hip Hop, there is another name uhh R&B or Emo. It was not Hip Hop when Ja did it nor when 50 did it. Foreign Exchange neither, and thats Acoustic Soul and I think their style was bitten by both Drake and Ye. But thats just my opinion.

This goes back to the merging of hip hop and r&b into one genre. It was bound to happen due to the lack of quality hip hop, the lack of variety, and crossing over. All that and other factors played a part in this. When a genre starts struggling it will reach out and tap into others to attempt to gain a bigger audience.

I don't mind them merging so to speak...but when your options are limited, you just gotta go with what works and all the top cats are making money doing it.

I am liking what the west is doing though...they're really putting a boost back into (all rap) hip hop. They're bringing that good ol' dope hip hop back to life. They got a decent movement going on over there.

Wayne and Baby are all talking that blood shit, which is fugazi as fuck. I don't think Drizzy wants to be affiliated with those people, anymore. I don't blame him...

Sad part is, his music will become softer....

That and Drake seems to be catching a lot of heat from east coast rappers. This may be a smart move for him in that perspective.

boi don't get that ass banned...the "funky fucks" care DUDE......lol

Luda wasn't only going at Drake in that song. His main focus was Big Sean. He also went in on Field Mob.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The worst thing about "today's" hip hop/rap is that one sector of it always thinks they know best. They have the ultimate definition of it. What it is, what isn't....what's real, what's fake. What you can do, what you can't do.

Hip Hop is a culture and rap is a genre of music that came from that culture. But guess what? You don't have to be rooted in the culture to do rap music. But of course that makes you fake huh? If so there's a gang of fake dudes in your circle and you might just be one of them.

I know a lot of people think they have the Hip Hop culture on lock. U eat, breath, shit and have sex with it. Rightttt, u may dwell in it at times but you damn sure don't live it 24/7 365. No one person owns it so no one person can claim it. It started here, evolved to there and will continue to evolve when we're all old and gray. It's nothing like it was when Herc and them were first recognized for it and that's not a bad thing. Had Hip Hop and Rap not evolved it wouldn't be here today. In my opinion if Hip Hop ever disappears it'll because of all this wanting to segregate it b.s. Divide and conquer...

I mean really....we got east coast minded dudes actually giving props to THE West Coast for bring something back to "hip hop" when that whole east coast west coast beef shit is what damn near brought it to it's knees...u gotta be kidding me. These are the same dudes that didn't respect or accept anything rap that didn't come out of NY back in the day but now that they're not at the top of the hip hop food they humble themselves.

You would think artist like Drake controlled the music industry....THEY DON'T. It's a bunch of old ancient pale skinned mf's who could give two shits about the culture so the resentment and anger should be aimed there way.
