So this is it. It's more and more widely accepted I guess, which is a shame. Using it as a tool is one thing, but what's the limit?

Curious on how he uses it, think he's experimenting with it by the sounds of it.

Dre is notoriously mega perfectionist on shit so I doubt ai is spitting out things exactly how he wants.

He's probably playing with it also to see what's up, as if it sticks around he'll want/need to know as a businessman how to proceed regarding it.

The argument about "drum machines and synthesisers" is a redundant one, because you still need to know how to play them to make them good; AI you literally just tell it to make for you, you don't need any skill. It's just a random music generator.

Dre hasn't made anything decent in over 20 years, so I don't know where he's going with this. For the longest time he's been focusing on mixing and playing around with gear, like he's turned into more of an engineer than anything.

And yeah about the drum machines, I agree. It's not the same at all, but I get what he's saying. I'm sure some drummers were mad when they came out but drummers are still around today, getting plenty of work.

I keep saying it doesnt matter. As long as it sounds good. AI makes stuff sound generic. So if your stuff doesn't, then it's a win. But music is music in my opinion and no one can tell you how to make it. The human touch will always prevail with art so as a human beatmaker or whatever there's really nothing to worry about.

I agree with all that except "great musicians are never left behind" so so many are, there is much more supply than there is demand. Many artists are not business minded, many are introverted and don't want fame.and just do it for the love of the art and getting creative. Many others are overlooked like needles in a giant haystack.
