Also, he's made his billions so he doesn't care how it affects the industry. For all we know he's getting ready to back some AI company. DREAI BEATS!!!
my thoughts exactly, I'm not expecting him to care when it comes to himself, with all due respect, cause the mfer made the culture go forward as much as anyone, but whatever. He's not in this anymore.
They're the ones who'll be left behind.
As AI keeps regurgitating the same old, artefact laden shit, they'll lose their skills and miss out when truly inventive and creative individuals do something good.
the thing with AI "musicians"
they rob themselves of the journey of being a musician, learning, discovering new music, looking for cool obscure genres and artist, over the year, becoming better at it, playing an instrument, chopping samples, scratching, fingerdrumming, all of the above...
cause at the end of the day
if the main reason you start to make music is to have a "career", you're already giving up what could significantly impact the way you live your life and your outlook, the way you connect with other human beings, through the music you make, the stories you learned how to tell and lived through.
This ability to actually craft with your hands, a story that might resonate at an extremely deep level, with fellow human beings all throughout the world.
Ai "musicians" don't get that
they get something
but not that
in the same regard, every one of us might be missing out on parts of the journey. We might never know what it feels to be part of a massive classical orchestra, playing timeless classics, or improvising on a piano or a guitar, chopping samples of existing material into something entirely new and novel even.
Ai "musician"
it's the new low hanging fruit for slop producing
before that it was "type beats" (don't look at me like that, been there too) or "bedroom producers", premade loops or whatever else.
While all have some value as piece of art, the experience gets more and more muted and sanitized.
missing the journey to the point where you're start missing the point entirely
that's where AI "musicians" seem to be going, and happily so.
At the end of the day, if they can get something out of it, more power to them.
I'll be making music regardless, putting in it all that I got, regardless
and if you're the same, good, if not, good also
great music is timeless, great musicians are never "left behind", you're only left behind if all you do is try to keep up with whatever's trendy right now, which only gets you running in circles.
that's also one of the reasons why it's always good to have an idea of what came before, to build up to where we're today
