After recording your lead vocals shhould you double them up? and should you add compression to the leads and dubs or just the leads?....I recorded sum new trax and they sound like all the high frequencies are gone so now there left wit only the low and mid end and dont even fit in wit da mix.....but yea will double ups help get a fuller effect on my vocalz?

That's because compression removes the high frequencies... so u should EQ ur vocals a little bit towards the high end to get the clarity in your voice back..

Hope this helps,

it depends sumtimes doubling voclas works but it usually sounds crap all the way through, and it seems like the vocalist is weak, compression dnt add it unless you need to, dnt feel you have to just compress everything, if you dnt need to dnt do it for the sake of it !
if the highs have gone try putting the vocal through an aural exciter this will add sum upper harmonics to the sound and it gives some zing to the sound !

I don't think doubling vocals completly is good, I dislike that . . . I do think adlibs and and dubbing certain parts for emphasis are good and provide more energy to a track no matter what feel the track is portraying . . . I don't think the dubs and adlibs need compressions because they shouldn't be as loud as the lead vocals anyway . . . They should be lower and just loud enough to hear and shouldn't stick out in the mix . . . They hsoul just be used for emphasis to the lead vocals . . . Just my opinion

i havn't read most of this thread but who doubles up vocals??? ahhahah WTF :)

i think adlibbing like a chilled bystander to your own vocals is nice but every production calls for different precedures....
