the dmc pretty much died out here, turntablized took over and even that has gone

Of course you can, although it's not nearly as popular as it used to be. Lots of countries still have heats, just check the site and see what's going on.

You can indeed and you can also join the online competitions where you submit your routines strictly online

It would be cool if illmuzik had it's own online dmc championship where you submit a video of you doing your thing and members voting on it.
