Why don't we make are own network

Why don't we make are own network? Everybody run to Major label and not one artist or company tries to compete. I know majors buy out the companies and have marketing money that everybody wants, but it seem no one ever try to break free.

hey j-malice, thats deep stuff there man, but if theres any advice to give, surely you didnt think the music business was all rosey? it maight be for some but those ones wont last thru tough times.

some people get so hung up with what they see in the industry maybe cos they thought all they need to do is walk into the studio and walk out again..its all about the business. alot of what goes on in the music industry isnt unique..that shit probably goes on in everyday life at a normal 9-5 office job.

u shoudl stay the course and go for ur dreams, and not lose yourself in dissapointment. :) 1

this sh1t was a slap n my face yo. oh well, i gotta switch up my game plan.

But I'm still inspired by ghost writers like Mad Skills right now.
He's nice w/it.. plain n simple.. and he's getting his shine on lately if u haven't heard already.

Check out his song called "Ghostwriter". He breaks it down for us, and it's quite funny lol He says some rappers names who he wrote for in the song, but he has the names bleeped out. on a talk show or radio show he threatened that he would release the unedited version where the names aren't bleeped out which would expose some of artists he had wrote for. This would be bad for their repetation ya know?
LOL that nikka Mad Skillz.

So yes y'all, I'm still going hard for work w/in the music industry. I gotta big passion for success in this but not quite enough loot to be indie.

Artist or entertainer

Yeah there's some crazy stuff that goes on in the music industry my pops was in the music bussiness when people were gettin payed in Coke and heroin there's dirty shit that goes on but you gotta decide if your an artist or an entertainer we mostly got entertainers in the music biz right now there at the will of the people and the record labels entertainers don't make music to uplift people and that is heartfelt and sincere. They're makin music to satisfy what the label is telling them people want and to make more dollars. An artist is in it to make heartfelt music uplift people and in turn uplift themselves and society. It sounds cliche but you gotta be in it for the love cause if you're not the music biz will chew you up and spit you out. At the end of the day I'm just tryna make good uplifting music I wanna make a living at this and I'd love to get rich at this but I'd do this even if I wasn't makin money doin it. Anyway I say this to say yeah the industry is shady but if you got love and dedication for what you do it will surpass that of couse you can't be naive about the indudtry but when you sighn a record deal you should know what the industry's about and what you're gettin into.

a lot of producers get dicked too. Almost all the Hitmen (Puffy's producers from early to late nineties) are broke now, and they made all those Biggie, Mase Puffy, LiL Kim hits if they would have had publishing rights to just one of those songs they would still have money comin in, but Puff and his label took everything . Also if you're producing for an artist who sighns to a label a lot of times the label will want their in house producer to produce the album even if you already have an album done because the label wants the publishing rights. Labels are always looking to own and control their artists music.
