I was wondering if anyone had experience in this and could recomend me to a place or site that would allow me to make my own custom design and print. Im looking for the thicker "hip hop " tee that doesnt shrink from xxl to medium after the first wash lol.. If someone could point me to a place they have used before with good results either online or the nyc/tri state area it would be appreciated.

ey ash, since im not from the states i cant recommend you a good place. but if you want lasting quality id recommend you to print on "super premium t" fruit of the loom shirts using silkscreen for print. the shirts are 205 g/qm which is absolutely rugged (180g is a pretty good quality too). i sold a 100 shirts some time ago and there wasnt a single return. the ones i kept never shrinked (washed them like 50 times since then) and the printing didnt fade or crumble.

and dont go with the usual "print your shirt for 20 bucks" sites. thats a rip off. you can always find professional vendors with very fair prices on the net. mine i got for approx. 6.50$ per shirt (including all fixed costs and tax), just as an orientation.

oh, 1 thing i forgot. try not to design in photoshop but rather use a program that supports scalable vector graphics (svg) like illustrator or corel draw graphics suite. having a print design in jpeg makes printing it for variable shirt sizes problematic.

^^^^ misinformation .. there was actually two things going on .. an open mic and a showcase .... turns out, the showcase was something that we needed to be signed up like a month ago (and pay) to do. We had no idea, which was a combo of misinformation/trickery to get people to show up on their part and poor research on our part. So we did the open mic... it pretty much sucked becuase the open mic came on AFTER the showcase .. there was litterally like 25+ mostly thuggish type acts in the showcase (there might have been like 12 girls in the building total, and 5 of them were acts or in acts, and We brought 3 ourselves, so u could imagine it was like the ultimate sausagefest... nyc 08 edition) as well as like 10-15 other open mic acts that went on before us.. its was LONG and got really stale after awhile... i mean after a while it was literraly hurting my head to be there. I have never seen that many acts perform in one night. Some of my boys that came to see us eventually left cuz the shit just kept dragging on. We were considering just leaving but we said fuc it we are already lets just wait it out and perform. by the time we got up the crowd was so dead that we could barely get em moving at all... and we were trying hard too and our show is pretty hype and high energy.. we did the party till i pass out joint and could barely get a few people into it. That song usually gets a great crowd reaction but the vibe was just so stale it wasnt happening at all. All in all it was a good experience, and more stage experience under the belt, but overall a relatively shitty night i would put it.. im glad i didnt promote it heavily because that would have shitty for our fans to come out and have to sit through 4 hours of rappers before they got to see us do the show. we got the performnace on film still, and hopefully the vid came out clear enough to post, which i think it did although we didnt check it out yet. we learned a couple of hard lessons yesterday.. the most important being never do a showcase unless u

1) understand the rules/signup/setup competely and plan waaaay in advance
2) know the number of acts that are gonna be there. If ur act 39 out of 40, doesnt matter how hot ur shit is the crowd is gonna be a bunch of zombies by the time u perform. Especially when u got niggas performing songs that are 5-6 minutes long with like 8 verses and ten hooks lol.. and u got dudes doing two songs when they are only supposed to do one and shit.. it was a mess basically

oh well, just gives us more of a reason to work harder, get our promo game tighter, and keep it movin

^^^^ I feel u...showcases/talent shows have predetermined winners by nature. It's always put on by somebody trying to make money or trying to promote there artist. I quit participating in those years ago. It's better to try and open for someone already out of somebody hot and about to be out than to do them shitz.

You guys need to get with a booking agent. Have them come out and see your show or drop them a vid of your live performances. Even if you're opening for free...it's better than them gimmick joints. We usually ask for travel and food and do are thang. If u like us, ever get out there we'll show the summbiches.....lol

That is like every spot here... I have done that show so many times I stopped doing them.
Eventually it sounds like the same song over and over again, club packed with thugs and thug wanna bees, then you come with somethin diff and they dont know wtf your doing, or they are zoned out..
Nice to know that happens everywhere lol.
