I'm relatively new to computer-based recording, but am no slouch when it comes the "learning curve" and getting to know detailed systems. Tracktion 2 appears to exactly have what I need, but Cubase seems to be so much more in the editing department its scary, lol. See, I'm just a hip-hop producer who's big on collaboration. My upgrades have been slow, but consistent over the years, so I'm sure of how I want to work: get the job done with above average quality without complicating things for myself with too much extra this and that which could just distract me from what I love most, collaborating with other engineers and artists on the mix to really explore the possibilities. I think I want a program for its convenience and quality moreso than being able to "do it all". Hope this isn't too confusing, but anyone's input on these two programs would be greatly appreciated.
