Basically i've got cubase and i've got acid. I went to quite a bit of trouble financially to get them. I'm really new to producing so i'm trying to find my feet, but it seems that whenever i start something i'll have an idea mess around with this and that but i ALWAYS end up using acid.

Hiphop is loop based, so acid is awesome for this. Anybody got any tips on how i can use cubase alongside acid. I always use cubase for midi, can someone tell me what i'm missing out on?

I don't know it this current version (4.0) of Acid hooks up to Cubase (with rewire) But I know that Cubase and Ableton 3.0 hook up with Rewire. Those two together are pretty crazy, I've seen a bunch of people use that combo. I've read that the new version (5.0) of Acid hooks up to Cubase Via rewire. Sorry to say but you should of gotten that combo, the intergration is seem-less.

If you're working strictly with loops Acid is the way to go. You can use REX files inside of Cubase but you need a program called Recycle. Then you take your loops and recycle them and the tempo's will sync inside of cubase automatically. But its still not as easy as Acid.

If you really want a good sequencer with looping like acid then you should try Sonar 3.0. It has acid built in and has all the features you could ever need.
