Jewel Avenue OX, had some good poiints bro, but I think when you are making music a lot of those commercial artists didn't set out to make pop music, it is what it is and the masses are feeling them I.E. Ludacris, Eminem, JAY, NELLY, J-Kwon, CHingy. I know for a fact Nelly didn't know he would be this big!! They were doing them and if 8 million people are feeeling them wht's wrong, this whole underground vs. commercial is some b.s. to divide and conquer hip hop don't get with it too much, cause your favorite underground group MOBB DEEp wish they could go multiplatinum with this new album, most underground groups don't have good stage presence and to be big you have to tour (50cent) and do good shows!!! Biggie and Jay-z knew how to rock a crowd, Public Enemy back in the day was the same way, same with Naughty by Nature, I doubt if Immortal Technique or MF Doom could do what Biggie did!

I would support anyone on this site.....This is a great way to get ur'e joints really critiqued. Yo u gotta think, some producers want to get paid...Take lil John for instance, b4 I came to SC i didn't really feel him that much, but since being down here, I see it's like a LIl john disease down here.....Cats will actually fight u for disrespecting that man.....So yes regardless of what type of music an artist on this site makes, I got their back....Take Class for instance, I think if he put it down he could definitely go commercial or "other". Music is about freedom, freedom to express who u r as an artist, cuz whether we know it or not, we r all artisits....Me personally I don't bump that much hip hop, I got 2 15's in ma truck and their pushing John Mayer or Coldplay, crazy right.......So yes u gotta support ur'e men regardless if the style is ur'e taste or not......Y not that might be the cat to actually give u a big break 1 day....U know relationships based on whatever is a give and take....Wer'e on this site to get heard, so u gotta b fair to everyone regardless of what they r looking for outta their music and what style it is......

the thing i hate is when producers sacrafice their creativity and taste so that people will dig their music. if J-malice is passionate about commercial style beats (which i assume he is) and thats the kind of music that he really digs, then good for him and i wish the best of success ot him. but if he is only making beats like that so he can get the dough then no i dont support that cos i concider that to be a form of lying and i hate lyers. music is made by artists first, businessmen second. thats debatable but its my opinion.

I feel that. alot a ppl do this shit for the money, but i do it for the love, and the money is gonna come wit it and im not complainin 1 bit. I cant help that i like the commercial style, its just whats appealin to me. a couple factors that helped that is.

i came into hip hop kinda late. around the time that the lox dropped money, power respect.

my dads a dj so i never bought cds i just listened to what he had and of course he had all the singles....so for a long timel thats what music was to me. so I recreate whats real to me which turns out being music with a commercial sound to it. I KEEP IT REAL!!!!! ask anyone that knows me, why would i fake and make some shit thats not me. when you see me on some otha type underground shit then ill be a sellout cuz that shit aint me.

the fact is ima all around producer, i can do ANYTHING, cuz i love music its that simple. thats my word i know whats good, twist it howeva you want to. but that still dosent change tha fact that i just like to make appealing music. its like females kinda. some people dont have a preference, they just like beautiful females.

thats like me and beats, i jus like hot beats, so i make hot beats wether its "commercial", or "underground" or "whateva" "you cant stop it when its hot, its hot" right???

and for the record lil john is a BEAST with his. much respect to him and what he's doin, and to everyone else, and to whoeva the fuck made that "we on fire" beat for lloyd banks,
