I cannot figure this out at all and I can really use some help.

From a DJ/Remixer perspective, I am using Cool Edit Pro/Acid 4.0/PCDJ. I can import a wav file into track one of cool edit no problem. I want to record on track 2 of cool edit. Every setting
I tried with my sound card, track 1 bleeds into track 2. This is the same when I try to record using Acid 4.0.

1. Windows XP with an intergrated sound card. (Is this the problem?)
2. Under volume settings (recording), I have tried every setting.

Do I need to buy a better sound card to prevent track bleeding.

Thanks!

did you select the input source of your win XP soundmixer?

Its your soundcard. i used to have that problem. im guessing you want people to rap over the beat you have on track 1. What i used to do before i got a better sound card, is pan your wav channel to the left. and then pan your line in ( or mic ) channel to the right. then tell Cool Edit to record only from the right. Now you will beable to hear the beat in ya left speaker and hear vocals in the right, and CEP will only record the vocals.
