Computer saying that my keyboard is in use by anther application..

Anyone had this problem? I can't use my midi keyboard with my DAW's because when I try to use it the DAW's will say my keyboard is in use by another application.

Did the keyboard come with free companion software? Im wondering if some companion software isnt using the midi port

what kind of keybroad do u have? what program are you running? and what bit (32/64) is your computer? and is it a pc or mac?

What DAW is it? What keyboard model is it? What is the model of your audio interface? What driver are you using for said interface? We really need a lot more info to help.

Computer is running on Windows 10. Keyboard is a Williams Legato. No interface I just use an A to B usb cable, a printer cable. The keyboard didn't come with companion software. I never had a problem until recently.

sounds like an installation of something has messed up your drivers. Maybe reinstalling the drivers will fix it?
Cant you remember what software you installed recently that may have caused it?

I’m guessing he needs to check “release driver in background” or something like that in his DAW but I need to confirm the DAW. If one needs tech support giving us lots of information is the key.

LOL sorry I didn't realize I hadn't answered that yet. DAW's are FL 20 and Reason 5. As for interface I don't know exactly. I don't use anything external, just plugging keyboard into computer via USB.
