Boy has the thread gone off. To the original poster though, i would advise you to at least give classic's posts a little consideration. I pretty much agree with everything he has said, but at the same time you have to do what your heart is into. If you do a business degree which you know you wont enjoy, you will not be as motivated and could end up failing and wasting the money. However am sure there are business degrees that are centred around the music industry which you could enjoy more.
When i heard "hiphop production degree" i kind of laughed, but thats what people did when they introduced things like art at universities which traditionally taught maths and sciences back in them old days. Personally i think a degree like that would not gurantee you success in the industry.
On the other hand you have degrees like audio engineering, which i think have a much better standing, but its all up to you. Get some advice from your school/parents on careers . Its a very good thing that you are considering higher education, so do not let anything put you off. Higher education is a good thing, for example in my case, at our university, average starting salaries after graduating are around £24k which i guess is around $40k, not bad for a 3 year course ey
