Whats up everyone...

I'm sure most of you guys have heard the Cool & Dre production "Chevy Ridin' High" by now, and I gotta say, the synth they have on that song has been stuck in my head for a good month now. Does anyone know the basics of how they got that sound? I'm still new at really tuning my sounds, using reverbs and all that, so I can tell they put some heavy ass effects on what sounds like a pretty standard Motif or Reason string/synth, but any advice on how to get that sound would be really appreciated.

peace-

Honestly i think it's a sample. If you listen to the instrumental it sounds like u can hear where the sample is triggered, maybe i'm high.

i know that if you go into reason and load the nnxt or nn19 and use the BRASSENS patch from the factory sound bank in the NN19 folder, you can tweak that with some filters to make it sound damn near exactly the same

thanks man, thats exactly what i was looking for. Cool and Dre use reason, so i'll bet thats how they did it.

I personally wanna know how the fuck they got that kick to bump so hard.

Thats one of my favorite beats right now.

1o1 - ......Im Back from the Dead

I hear you on that man, the thing that got me hooked on cool and dre's production is how hard their kicks hit , no idea how they do that isht.

its part sample .. the high pitched wailing sound playing througout the whole song is a sample .. but the lead that comes in on the hook is a synth. Im not sure what synth they used for that lead.. but i know cool & dre use alot of sounds right off the motif ... listen to "so much more" by fat joe ... alot of easily recognizable motif sounds.

I just heard this song and I have to say it's alright. I wasn't too impressed with it but it was okay.

yo do what i did.
took a month or 2 weeks off ill and studied synths hard.
i can tell you that it has to be a saw/sin type synth if it is one.
but that beat is well constructed its one of my favs.

I found this song to be totally disapponting, this thread got me hyped up, I checked the beat, and it sounds like hustle & flow part eleven.
Super mediocre IMO.

I thought this was gonna be a flip of the classic, the real deal, the original:
"RIDING HIGH" by FAZE-O.
They should never have even named it that, what a let down....
