Cannot Delete: cannot read from source file or disk

I have a icon on my desktop that is 0 bytes and I cant delte it , I have tried just about everything to get it off but I keep getting that message
"Cannot Delete: cannot read from source file or disk"

Its driving me mad..MAD I SAY!!!

Yea, Restart.

Start windows in Safe mode pressing F8 during start up so the option comes up.

Then delete it into the trash bin. Then empty the bin.

Should work.

If not you may have a trojan or malware. (doubt it though)

The common causes for this problem may be "invalid or too long specified path", "the source or destination file may be in use" "The file is in use by another program or user, Path too long and file/folder sharing violation.

restart worked the most recent time it happened, as far as the OP, nothing ever removed it lol

I would try booting into safe mode and deleting it there.
