i dont know what none of yall are talkin about youve obviously forgotten about what RZA has done in the whole production thing. Theres never been so many talented MCs together like there was with the WU Clan. Right off the bat, 36 is probably the best and most raw rap record ever. If that didn't make you feel like jumping into hip hop, you should have just switched to country or somEthin. 36 chambers, along with only built for Cuban Linx, Gza's Liquid Swords, Ghostface's Ironman, are records that changed the face of rap. The sad part is they dont get their respect due bc of what theyve been doin the last few years. Id rather have them doin it in the game than anyone else. Bunch of the rawest MCs out of NY... EVER.

I gotta add to that, 4th Disciple and RZA from back in tha day I gotta admit NO one was touching their Production techniques or use of samples ...no one back in those days were puttin it down like WU Tang on lyrics and hooks...or put out as many bangers....not to mention the below ground headbangers that you will never hear on ya radio station....they are Legendary....so even if the other crews were puttin in work no doubt, no of them have that legendary hip hop status like Wu Tang or did so much for the sound and grittiness to bring even the people who wouldn't have had an interest in hip hop bobbin their heads back in the 90s.......but of course I'm a lil biased because RZA is on of my favorite producers....maybe you should go back into the archives of their hits and refresh your ears a lil....WU TANG Clan ain't nuttin ta fugg wit...hahaha

RZA is the reason that Kanye West is a producer today instead of working at Wal-Mart.

I could put it like this... wu-tang is to me what christianity was to the romans... It was a totally new level of enlightenment, but because of the lames in the area I rest at, I've been persecuted for liking them. People fear what they don't understand (or call it nonsense). Wu-Tang is really the reason I went from a kid that likes rakim and other types of music, to being in love with hip-hop.

RZA-no comment on his production style... eclectic god-like with equal amounts of success and failure....

GZA-hip-hop's official campfire storyteller

ODB-my uncle, Keepin' It Real Gone Bad Originator, insane genius

Rebel INS-brought the whole witty wordplay style up a different level

Raekwon-Grimey, Crimey, Some-timey Whiney...

U-God- Baritone barbarian of the wu

Ghostface-Hip-hop's Salvador Dali...

Method Man - Insane, blunted out lyricists that couldn't rise above his weed high (unfortunately)

Masta Killa- shady assasin just itching to make you think

Cappadonna- .........................
ETC ETC ETC

If you wanna produce like the wu, all you have to do is sample from old Kung Fu Flicks. Although the the translations are garbage, the music scored to the films are still good music, I could see that, Rza could see that, and you can see that because you like his stuff. He basically started sampling from a untapped resource (fu flicks) and made a killing. Not to mention he's a better sampler than your traditional 4 and 8 bar stealer so he did bring some stuff to the table with him. The production on ODB first album was great, The song called snakes with the five deadly vemons sample was off the chain. But if you use the same resource, you'll have the same sounds. It's not a rza sound, it's a asian (chinese) sound. The chinese, where are their props? their movie scores, their sound fx's, you would expect to get that clue from the name, and nig's runnin around acting like they know Kung FU. It's a chinese thang.

Peace

WHO IS THIS GUY I LIKE HIS STYLE

"IN ORDER TO KNOW WHERE HIP-HOP GOING, YOU HAVE GOT TO KNOW WHERE HIP-HOP HAS BEEN"

PEOPLE HEAR SONGS ON THE RADIO BY PRODUCERS AND THINK THAT THEY WERE THE FIRST ONES TO USE THAT SAMPLE OR CREATE THAT BEAT. BUT ALOT OF TIMES THERE WRONG. ALOT OF NEW PRODUCERS RE-SAMPLE SOMETHIN THAT MARLY MARL DID OR LOOP AND OLD DRUM TRACK AND PEOPLE TODAY THINK THAT THESE NEW PRODUCERS CAME UP WITH THE IDEA AND SAMPLE. PEOPLE REALLY DONT KNOW THAT SOME NEW SONGS ARE JUST RE-SAMPLED OLD HIP-HOP JOINTS

and.... what does it matter that they know or not? who really cares?

there is so much knowledge out there that actually MATTERS... and for some reason knowing who did what in hip hop holds some kind of real importance?

the average listener could care less. its only producers and artists that fret over these things... they dont really matter...

Wu Tang did help a great deal, im am a big fan, and I belive that they set new trends for production and lyrics. Although people need to give 4th Discipline, Mathematics, and Tru Master some credit for prodcution instead of all to RZA, but RZA is a genuis im not takin anything away from him.
