example;

I use drums on the first 8 channels, i create a group and assign channels 1-8 to this group (or bus).

For a bit more control over the reverb on the drum channel i dont use a reverb on insert but via an auxilery, group or bus on which i loaded a reverb.
I set up the reverb to only put out a wet signal (just the reverb, not the actual carrier should be heard on this channel because the same signal would come back into the mix thus creating distortion).
Mostly Ill take one channel, send a full signal to the reverb and drop the fader untill i barely hear it, then i drop it a wee bitty more. Leave the fader in that position and choose how much you want to address to the reverb per channel (you turn the send counterclock wise unless you like it that way).

Reason you would use sends instead of insert for reverb is because it enables you to A; eq that channel aswell and B; use one reverb for all channels.
