theres ALOT of places in nyc to do this ... u could fill ur entire week at open mic spots and showcases... i used to promote at alot of them i can get u some info about some of them .... but we started our whole business through craigslist to be honest.. there are so many clubs looking for promoters on there its crazy... the best way to get a show is to gurantee a certain amount of people. the club owners only give a fuc about two things (1) alot of people come, pay, and drink (2) nobody gets in a fight or gets shot .... if u can get those two things goin u can perform in alot of places around nyc. You can even hook it up to where u get the door money or you get some of the bar money etc.... for real just start with craigslist and work from there
