I dont think this has been asked before...??

anyway

I think its a tie between DJ Shadow - Endtroducing and
RJD2 - Deadringer

I think Deadringer is slightly better but Endtroducing was made so long ago and is classic.

Both RJ and Shadow are masters at all aspects of making a beat.....drum patterns, melodies, vocal samples, change ups, innovations etc

Who do you think produced the best instrumental album?

Seeing that Shadow and RJD2 have rappers on their stuff, I guess I can also mention Format and Prefuse 73, who I find 2-3 times better ;)

Shadow doesnt but RJ does have rappers on Deadringer.

Prefuse is my third choice for sure. Which album of his do you like best? I think Vocal Studies + Uprock Narratives was better than One Word Extuinguisher because he did more chopping of vocals. Apart form that they are very close.

Im gonna chick out this Format dude.....ive never heard his work

RJD2 is not my style, I don't know why...just isn't. Shadow is good, but I'm currently just liking Prefuse's new CD and the new CD with DJ Format...and I don't really know which of Prefuse's are my favourites, I've only heard the new one and I think it's Uprock Narratives I got too.

Format is more laid back, mellow basslines, you must have heard his track with Charli 2na and I can't remember the other guy "We know something you don't know..."
