Just to rap things up, I was never accusing the mods of bias if that was how they took it, and I still love the beat this competitions and will continue to compete in them no matter who picks the winner. Thanks Fade and Truth for fielding my question although Im still a little insulted that Truth wouldn't consider me to be a member worthy of the vote. Its all good though and it seems that most people here don't agree with me on this one anyway.

sammy, i'm sorry- seriously.

its not that you arent worthy- but it's just not feasable for the good of the competition overall. its really not personal against you.

i will say this: we DO care about the thoughts of our members and value your input. the goal is to make this the best, most member friendly site around and to do that we have to be able to address things like the beat this comp.

again, i dont (and cant) speak for fade or the other mods, but there is always something we can do better and the way we achieve that is for you guys to address the things yuo think could us changing- but what THAT doesnt mean is the things being adressed will actually change- UNLESS there are clear benifits to that change..... and in this case, it seems unanymous among the mods that the beat this voting remains the same.

Look at one of the previous competitions: Producer Gyal had 2nd spot I think, then she dropped down to 4th or 5th. It's just the way the votes went. But then again, these competitions are meant to be FUN, and for everyone to break from the norm of just posting in the Showcase. Plus it gives everyone something to look forward to every month, right?

I have a little idea to try and please some of you. For the next comp., we will vote as usual, but may in addition to the normal voting, have an open poll for all members to vote (there may be a small post limit). This poll will serve as the 'people's vote'...but the winner will only get the recognition (if the winner is different from the official winner).
That way, we can also see how big a difference there is between the official voting, and the poll...and if people are more satisfied with the poll. If that is the case, over a period of time, then we might consider changing the official voting process, and add the member's votes somehow.
