This is what I'm doing currently with the vocalist in me. My hurdle is teachers for adults are scarce where I'm from so I try finding vocal exercises per YouTube, which is a hazard as I'd rather have an in-person approach as I don't care to self teach as the voice is an instrument that can easily be damaged but I do what I can. Goal is to find my own distinct voice over time albeit w/a teacher.

What matters is if they are a good vocal coach or not.

Yeah @2GooD Productions I can and do and I know I'm full of excuses. I just know what I've gone and go through on my journey, not that my struggle is unique 'cause it's not.
the problem is, that long journey will amount to nothing, none of us are getting any younger.
Everybody has their own struggles, EVERYBODY. Its up to us to overcome those hurdles, not set up more in our path.
Its taken me over 20 years to get to the standard I am today. 20 YEARS. I didnt hesitate to get started, and spent day after day, week after week, years after years honing my craft. Either get started, or dont and find another passion.
If you want it bad enough you will go and get, it seems to me that you dont want it at all. Thats just the impression I get after 2 years of you saying a lot and not doing much at all, then making excuses about it.
Im just being real with you, sometimes we need a reality check.

I'm @2GooD Productions unwilling to find another passion, many of my prior endeavors were nothing I could connect to people with and about, so music personally represents for me a way to connect and I am starting, albeit w/bumps in my road that I'll drive over.
there are many other careers in music other than rapper or producer, maybe some other aspect of the music business would suit you better. You are a good networker, you can connect people. You have talents.
Maybe even a career in artist management or something
Been thinking/saying it for ages and believe many would agree.
Heck, if we had you searching for sponsors for the Battle That would have probably had a Motif, Grand Piano, Moog SSL Desk and $20,000 cash prize.

Yep, that's true @OGBama . It's perfect description of your actions to be honest and I'm not being salty or something here. I think from what I remember it's been about three years and over the span of these three years your procrastination took many forms.
You were creating many threads here about which DAW to choose, which controller to buy, which microphone to buy, which vst to download or buy all this kind of stuff. What will be next? What is your astrological sign and what are the best astrological signs for music production to find out if you're one of them? What is the horoscope for the next month for your zodiac sign and if it's the right time to choose a vocal teacher or to make something? I'm sorry but this is getting ridiculous for real.
Take me for example, I started playing the guitar at the age of 12 and started doing it on the cheapest classical guitar I could afford. Why? Because I couldn't afford any other. So I played the same classical guitar for about 7 years, about 3-4 hours a day and when I was 19/20 I bought my first electric guitar for the money that I earned in my first job ever. When I switched to music production I just pirated FL studio and started playing with stock sounds it had. That's all. I didn't wait until some magical thing happened.
I also sing a bit so when I wanted to improve myself in this area first, I went to music school, then I had a few years break, then I was just trying to sing my favourite songs, then I found a teacher in the town near me and then I was trying to improve myself on my own doing youtube tutorials.
If you want a really good teacher I recommend you Jeff Rolka:
Probably the best vocal teacher out there on YouTube in my opinion. He also offers online classes/Skype lessons if you'd be interested in that and he has some certificates that qualify him as a legitimate and trustworthy vocal teacher.
Best advice: Just start. I just want to say that it will be a lot better for you if you just downloaded some DAW, started messing around with it and showed us the results of your work than just waiting and asking and procrastinating.
exactly, if you really want it, you do what you have to do, you get what you can afford and work with it. As we mature we add to our gear over time till eventually we have something pretty decent. Over this time when we are working with the bare minumum is when we learn the most, our songs might sound like shit at this point, but that doesnt matter because there is a whole lot of learning that happens before the first good beat is ever made. By the time you have accumulated enough gear to make decent beats you should have learned at least enough to make decent beats.
There is so much to production to learn, from the DAW you use, every single vst you use, scales, rhythms, timing, chord progressions, chopping samples properly, it goes on and on and on. The more you learn about music, the more you realise there is to learn. Its a lifelong journey. Waiting till half your life has passed to even get started is the worst idea, as there is just so much to learn.
