very good beats today...but i'm amazed at how many of you guys can't get away from trap beats...i mean honestly..it's a blues sample, i personally think that a blues sample should have a good Boom Bap beat to go with it...because i heard a few beats that sounded like they only could add small parts of the sample to their beat because they probably couldn't bring a blues sample and a trap beat together...so they chop the hell out of it to make it work....KEY WORD: VERSATILITY...Anyway...GOOD LUCK TODAY, EVERYBODY

This is how I was feeling. I just couldn't make a trap beat with this sample. Never really done boom bap but I wanted to give it a shot. Plus I love blues and jazz so had to mix that in there.

@A.R. DASUPASTAR , don't get me wrong majority of the beats I sell are trap beats..I just meant that certain samples mix better with certain beats..and your right bruh..to each his own.. and i have much respect for your work bruh..
My guy!!! I agree with you cuz my beat was strictly boombap!!! I actually want everybody on that trap shit so that my sound stands out!!!! !! Can't wait to hear ya shit bro.

Dope beats guys. Lots of good variety. I agree that the sample sounded a little forced in many of the trap beats. Think this was begging for that dusty vinyl treatment... and no, I’m not talking about a plug-in called “dusty vinyl”. :D

Props to everyone who worked in a transition or two!

everyone is not a "boom bap" producer....every style is unique remember that

@Producer KD , we are not talking about style...so right there you're misunderstanding what i'm saying...it's about mixing and editing...some samples don't work with certain beats...nothing do do with style, but has everything to do with versatility and getting out of your comfort zone to try something challenging..that's what these flip theme competitions are about..but if you carry the title producer then i shouldn't have to explain to you what every producer should know...and i never once said that anybody's beat was bad..all the beats are dope af..but obviously it sounds like it offended just you and nobody else..and just to set the record straight i'm not a "BOOM BAP" producer either..most of the beats i sell are "trap beats"..but since i am a producer i don't always get artists that want trap beats..i do EDM, TRAP, DRUM & BASS, R&B, HIP-HOP, BOOM BAP, REGGAETON, AND JAZZ...KEY WORD:VERSATILITY...Because i want everybody's money...don't want to be caught up with making one kind of beat...EXAMPLE: MIKE JONES

No doubt. It’s a more technical approach to hear a sample and say, hmmm this requires such and such a style. For me, I’d rather create something that reflects my personal style every time. I’m not on the level to say, ok this needs a trap beat. I just don’t make that kind of music. I know it goes both ways too. I can see how a person who is into making trap beats wouldn’t consider flipping something w a boom bap style... just because that sound doesn’t appeal to them.

@Deez Beats
Dude... trap vs boom bap is absolutely a style difference. Not mixing. Maybe editing, if that’s what u call the process of creating a beat.

first off I would like to just say this was a tough one for me to vote for...
it took me over an hour just to narrow it down to 5 beats
then another 20 minutes went by and im down to 2
tbh I honestly was blown away by the one I voted for...
you can clearly hear that its the same sample
but at the same time the beat sound completey nothing like the original sample...lol
definition of a dope sample flip whoever you are!...

Yes. No doubt man. It’s all love. Just furthering the convo. On the real, this was tons of fun. Learned a little something and sharpened up the skills. Props to all the competitors. I enjoyed listening to all of these.

The mobile interface on this site, and the battles specifically, is doooooope! I like the format a lot.
