The next competition will be from June 23-24th! See the information below.

Signups

The signups will be on June 23rd at around 8am ET, and end around 8pm ET. Voting will be for 1 day, on June 24th, where the results will be posted the same day.

The Signup page is here (it will open up on the signup day)

Theme: Remix - Marvin Gaye "What's Goin' On"
  • Your beat must be no longer than 4 minutes!
  • You are doing a full song with the Marvin Gaye's "What's Goin' On" acapella - DOWLOAD HERE
  • The original "What's Goin' On" song is around 100 BPM
You have 4 minutes to make a beat and have the Marvin Gaye "What's Goin' On" acapella on it. You can flip the acapella any which way you want.

You can use whatever sounds you want, samples, synths, just remember to read the rules for the rest of the restrictions. What the voters will be looking for is originality, creativity, mixing skills and overall dopeness!

Sponsor

This month, the competition will be sponsored by Greg Savage & DIY Music Biz, where the winner will get 1 on 1 consultation from industry insider Greg Savage on music licensing.

Rules

Pretty close between the top 2 imo. But 5 entries for a classic Marvin pella is ludicrous. Was going to suggest we stay ratchet on the pellas so we can have 20 entries erry time, but nah. Let's stick with quality over quantity.

My fault @TACTIK . I re-read what I have for the rules: "You can flip the acapella any which way you want."

I forgot about that part, so it means you can use parts of it or the whole thing. Listening to your beat you DO use it, so it's all good!
