I did not enter but I think there were only two that nailed it. This was a tough theme but a good one. It seems like some entries pasted the vocal track over a beat they had already made in their arsenal. When they should of built a new beat around the vocals that was given.

@Fade I hope to see another like this so I can get in on it next time

Yo @crog85 I'm really happy for you, Imma let you finish, but I had one of the best remixes of ALL TIME...

No really tho congrats lol. except for the part where it was out of key, it was kinda nice. (at least it was better than whatever tf I came up with.) also @Vossi Beats "I got Grapes" :ROFLMAO:

I'm just talking about the drums originating from hip hop breaks to explain how the tempo is still a hip hop one if you can flow the right way to one. Not a history lesson about how it was all created from the beginning...

Well that was a fun one. I am well aware I didnt make a "remix" But the struggle was real. no matter what I stretched myself even further and I learned a bit. Looking forward to the next one. Congrats @crog85 . Im welcome to all feedback on my track. Oh and I know it wasn't a remix lol

Really? Maybe so... what part? I used the relative minor key of the original song...

i thought my mix was a bit subpar this one... was trying to mix the sub bass thing with 808’s on the 2nd half where the hihats come in... prob couldve just got rid of the 808s altogether... low end was just too heavy on that part... meh...

Grapevine beat this

Beat 1 - deep house vibes, bit off key too often, not keen on chop arrangement

beat 2 - trap, use of the 'i i i i' a bit of a cop out, could have done a lot more,
maybe even use more of the word to create the melody or such

beat 3 - really like this beat, 1st change is a bit awkward. prefered the first part
1st section is the best

beat 4 - uh-oh piano starting off solid, hope this one goes shit or it wins ha
oh, it's gone all house/pop/edm, trap hats pull it back. hm

beat 5 - this is really cool. the timing/key issues let this down a little, but
otherwise sounds really cool.

beat 6 - reallllly good, love it, really well done. But I'm trying to keep my votes
more Hip-Hop focussed, but this is great stuff.

beat 7 - cool kinda spaced out trap, i think the vocal doesn't always sit right
which is a shame as the places it *does* sounds really damn cool, vibes.

beat 8 - cool beat. i think the vocal had too much feeling of urgency in some places.
in some of the chops tho it sounded really good with the beat.

beat 9 - 80s letsssgooo! I really want to vote for this 'cause I love 80s, but I need
to decide whether I can consider this close enough to hip-hoppable

beat 10 - i kinda like what they were tying to do, but im not sure it came off how i
personally would have liked to hear it. cool approach tho

beat 11 - interesting, really awkward, but i think that's the kinda intended sound /
vibe perhaps? no beef against it, just ain't my kinda thing. experimental

beat 12 - sounds like almost trance-trap. Nice vibes tho, unsure a bit on the vocal
but really nice. considering this for vote. maybe

beat 13 - Mine; i like how i altered the rhythm/feel of the vocal.
played on the rules and idea of 'remix' 'vocal track allowed: yes'
a few minor suspect pitches, the Marvin parts may feel a bit 'slow'

beat 14 - sounding like an urgent track, can imagine almost jay z or kanye coming in
would have been nice if it changed a little as otherwise just sounds DnB

beat 15 - nice work on the beat, I feel the drama doesn't suit the vocal feel, but
in some places the vocal falls into a really nice space with the atmosphere

beat 16 - a bit 'housey' but I can imagine someone rapping on it, I like the
reinterpretation of the music* - YES SOMEONE ELSE ran with the REMIX idea!
*feel that's a bit easy, but i like the rest.

Here's my list of EVERYONE'S beat. Figure out who you are until I'm back.

I voted for the beat who did what i did and put rap vocal in!
