@Armani your beat sound like the Temu version of Drake song "6 God" How you get up there
because it's exactly fucking that lmfao. "I'll admit it, I'll admit it" :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

basically I was workin on this film score for idk, 3 4 hours & my brain wasn't functioning anymore. I needed a countermelody & all I had open was clarinets with mad effects on it that I'd be too lazy to open when I'm makin beats. so anyway I start playing & next thing I know I'm adding drake soundin drums to some toughcock riff I just came up with. hell I'm pretty sure the drumline sounded exactly like no long talk until I realized & different'd it a bit :skull:

so yeah if you watch the film & decide to open the .flp project for this classical/orchestral theme song, if you scroll down the playlist long enough you'll find a fucking drake type beat in there somewhere :skull::skull:

When I saw a notification from you I didn't even have to open it to know what you said.

I think this was one I just decided to do, I can't remember what necessarily I was doing. Something more specific musically. But stylistically leaning on usual habits. Because. What else to make?

I was going to add extra parts and extra sections. Just ... yeh sigh
like I'm not even double checking after the results came out. I'm that sure.

I think the bassline gives it away before anything else atp. the "bu-ru-bummm" thing.

well done, @S.o.T.A. - I thought your beat was the best here. Was that all composed or is it a chopped up sample?

Eyyyyy brother @Earsblower --- you got my vote! Had no idea this would be yours! It was a toss up between the winning beat and your one - but your one it just made me move more, I had more of an emotional reaction to it. Magic ingredient. Great work as always!

@K-waz loved the drums - was this from a sample/break or was this your own drumming? Great texture

@BizangoNigma - high quality beat, feels a little EDMish, but sounds to me like it would be a great 'battle beat' for dance battles. Try get your music to them if you're not already. Do you compose your whole beat or you use any samples etc?

As always, if anyone wants any feedback @ me
Thank you so much!!your beat was one of my favorites also!
yeah it's all composed, that's they only way i know tbh, i can't even sample :ROFLMAO:

also that guy who listened to field trip n said "hey what if there was a rick ross version of this" must be fun to talk to. I almost voted for bro.
I vividly remember writing this, then going "what if it's bandia? it actually might be bandia" and changed the "him" at the end into "bro" to make it unisex. I even got on to check who it was rn and basically the 3rd or 4th beat I guessed would be it was bandia's, n it turned out it was bandia's.

I mean @Iron Keys gives great in-depth mix reviews but does he drop phrases like "toughcock riff" or offer up onomatopoeic descriptions to emphasise a bassline?

Badoom tssh!

Thanks @hosie , glad someone have taste around here! Jokes aside, congrats on the win @S.o.T.A. and everyone who placed.

I can feel your rage every Beat This! when you don't get the votes. Don't sweat the small stuff. Your beats and mixes are top quality every time dude.

Composed? Even better and more impressive to be honest. I'd have liked your instruments to have a little more movement / colour and I actually think it may be why @Iron Keys voted Earsblower opposed to yourself, but I could be wrong. It was almost too perfect / too clean. The composing was GREAT!!

@K-waz Thanks man. I always throw something in last minute and never enter anything I've pre-made. Definitely didn't need the vocal chops and they're a little too clean but they helped me find the groove. I actually plan to finish the beat over the weekend. I'll fire it up on here when it's a bit more polished.

Oh I'm not worrying about this at all, this is where I pitch my stuff mostly so it's nothing 100% done and to be humble my own stuff sound a 1000 times better with rapper/singer on it.

I think I was leaning that sota's beat was 'technically better' overall, had a better mix, but that Earsblower's beat just made me move more. It was an imperfect mix, but, and this is crucial, the emotion of it just caught me - both beats made me move, but Ears' beat reaaally made me move, and therefore any misbalances or such became fairly irrelevant.

This is a crucial thing to understand about mixing, sometimes it's important to misbalance elements because of how it serves the emotion of the record.

also I love the fact that the top 3 (idk bout 4 n 5) beats were all composed. gives me hope. @Iron Keys @S.o.T.A. #actualmusiciancirclejerk.
What do you mean the top 3 were all composed? Everyone that makes beats are composing :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: If you really want to be real I can tell who using loops and who's sampling. The ones that supposedly "composed" in your eyes mixing sure does sound different when they use loops. When loops are used... mixing are on point. When using no loops mixes are trash #facts

A lot of cap going on here. The best guys got good mixes with/without loops or samples.

The lesser guys mixes still be wonky with sampling or loops.

There are some that rouse suspicion at times tho.

Who are they??? because everyone on here mixes are not perfect or shitty.. I'm one of the ones that's not perfect I can admit it and that's on purpose. I laugh every time when a person critic mixes and their aren't good.
