Voting

If you are competing, you will be able to vote but not for yourself. DO NOT TRY TO CHEAT! I will be watching for cheaters. This means you cannot sign up under different names or get your friends and family to sign up either. If you are caught cheating you could be banned.

Voting Criteria

You can use whatever sounds you want, samples, synths, just remember to read the rules for the rest of the restrictions. What the judges will be looking for is originality, creativity, mixing skills and overall dopeness!

Beats

All the beats will now be displayed in a random order and without any names. All you will see is: Beat #001, Beat #002, etc. This is so that there is no favoritism when voting.

Rules

If you're not sure about the rules, read this thread.

If you have any comments, suggestions, or questions about the competition, please post them in here.

Listen closely... Closer...
I had a hard time between @DJ Excellence and @Bandia Gotach but ended up going with the gritty hard beat from Bandia. This is a dope hard beat. Feeling the aggressiveness from it !! Insane prod.

@Iron Keys that shit was playing in the back of my 'very late night movie' I watched the other time :D Pron Type beat 4 sure.

@JGuccI this is written Rick Ross all over it !! Liked it very much.

Respect to all who entered and did create something :sneaky:

@P.A.T. congrats on a not-tie!
Something about this one i cant quite put my finger on... the sonic or music signature. Reminds me of something

@Bandia Gotach coool beat, when I first listened on my phone, this stood out to me, quite liked this.

@DJ Excellence cool beat, I can see this being like background/scene music in documentaries, like about basketball or random cut scenes moments, review vids etc.

@Earsblower cool beat bro, for some reason i can't really remember this beat; im always certain that some of the beats change after the names are released, seeing beats i don't remember hearing etc ha the Storchy strings are giving Arvin vibes - having heard this i would have got excited for Arvin signs of life!

@showkaseworld cool beat, i think the drums could be a bit more dynamic - this next bit is a personal opinion, but I find with the trap and drill stuff, I'm a bit over it --- the same drum patterns, the exact same 808 slide pattern, every drill beat pretty much sounds the same. When I hear trap or drill it really needs to push the boat out and break the mould... i feel it's gonna be a little bit victim to its own problem tho, so many people have spent so long makig the same type beat that if it is to deviate from that it might not be considered 'drill' or 'trap' enough, but i think that's even more reason to try.

---

@allagory nice effort, i like the music... the drums, these sound like the default midi rock drums we got in like 2000s software, if you really want to use them in your work, i'd suggest smashing them pretty hard with a combination of compression and saturation jsut to make them more beefier and aggressive, and thus more hip-hop!

I believe I voted for @Stan1 --- this is a really cool beat, this could do with a better mix though and it would really fucking smash. The levels are fine, just feel the kick needs to pop out the speakers more, and a more fuller richer solid low end to really pin down the track. The potentially find an element to provide a bit of width and it'd really hit. I think the mix can stay relatively mono, but maybe one small thing to add the contrast. But yeah tasty.

---

@Iron Keys my beat was a bit of an experiment of doing things a different way, isn't fully produced or mixed. More of a speedrun demo. I like the textures. I like the drum pop but think I needed to better control the dynamics. I like loose/pocket timing, but I think timings were clashing on my bass and lead... having issues with the midi tracking, which makes it really hard to tighten up intentionally 'felt' performances in a way that retains the feel. Good tester for future tracks

If anyone wants any feedback or anything just @ me
