Beat Making accidents!

Just had a terrible experience while making a beat. I was using samples but then went to add a VST on top but since the samples are so quiet, I turned the volume up.

Well, as you can guess, when I hit the pad to play the VST, it was like BASLFKJASDF093JASDLFKJ!!!! in my ears. I never threw the headphones off my head faster.

So I have to take a break and rest my ears today. Ugh.

Anyone else have any beat making accidents?

1. Yep, has happened a few times to me as well.
2. That must be piercing.

@Fade I feel you on that volume incident, had the same thing happen a couple of months ago when a primitive bitcrusher VST I often use glitched out and just sent a bunch of ear-piercing junk when I enabled it... thankfully I didn't suffer much, but it was a shocking experience nonetheless.

@Drago Zetić That sucks. I wonder if anyone has really damaged their ears with accidents like that.

1. Losing my projects due to hard drive crash (last year I lost really, really cool beats )
2. Similar situation like yours @Fade but in my case it was a "joke" by one of my colleagues. He sent me a file to review and when I played it, it attacked me with some crazy loud squeaky sounds and my reaction was similar to yours... Thankfully my ears are good.
