Beat Cataloging..

Ok, i've heard all this shit about peeps making catalogs, and adding beats to them. but my question is.. HOW DO YOU START ONE?, and what exactly is it?!? I've been wanting to start one, but dont know or have the damnedest idea how.. someone pleeeaaaaaase help.

Here is a spreadsheet I put together so I could track my catalog. Another thing I do is in iTunes, I have a playlist with all my beats in it. That way, whenever I want to throw a beat CD together, its a snap cuz I can just fire up iTunes.

i think beat catalogue is just a term for a collection of beats that a producer puts together for mc's to listen through
