I was really considering a post yesterday just begging the members to be more active here, not just battling but posting stuff, having discussions about any old shit, building a fucking team and getting back to helping each other grow.

The last thing I ever want to see is this place to disappear, along with my achievents here. The negativity and sore egos just kill the fucking vibe

I agree. I've seen it all over the place, not just here. I used to check out a forum for forum admins and it started with ways to make your forum grow and be noticed, to "nobody's posting anymore, what am I doing wrong?". It's just people don't care about posting on forums or even social media anymore - unless it's about them.

When I did AOTB I would review beats and hardly ever get a reply when I put the show up. I just thought it was weird that someone would submit their beat asking for feedback, but then not care or follow up. I'm sure some of them never even listened to the show even with their beat in it. So what was the point?

I've been told that FB is dead too. The novelty wore off ages ago and nobody bothers posting unless it's to complain about politics.

As for ILL, I know forum software is old technology, but if someone really wanted to learn and be a part of something, this is it. Discord is not the same, but I do see how people are attracted to it and use it as their community.

It's sad to see that in the Showcase or Beat Fights, there's little feedback there as well. I know not everyone has the time to check out every beat, but once in a while still makes a difference. It's more like people come here like "Yo here's my beat" and just leave, not caring about anything going on. I remember many times people signing up here and their first and only post was "ARE THERE PRIZES?" for the Beat This. They leave and never come back.

This site is 100% free. I don't even have ads on here anymore. I think I took anything related to Google off of here (maybe just a font or whatever) so there's no callback to them.

Maybe I should start an OnlyILL and sell pictures of my old hairy balls.

I remember posting beats on other forums looking for feedback and there never was any, those websites dont exist anymore and Ill does. Communication, teamwork and collaboration, working together has kept this place going for years. I used to make a lot of noise about people posting feedback in the showcase, because of that, but eventually it wore me out.

Sometimes we need cold hard truths to give us a kick up the backside, so we go outside, touch some grass, maybe get a bit of air on our sore vaginas, and grow as an artist and a person, then come back stronger and more motivated.

And I know you'll disagree with that statement, and that's fine. But this has been going on for years. I remember one time a few of us gave feedback on your West Coast beat and you replied by saying it's not West Coast. Sometimes I wonder if you just like to disagree.

No beat goes to waste, not a single one, ever.
A beat might not reach a desired audience or live out its full potentential but every beat we make has value in our growth as a beatmaker, all the good ones and all the shit ones.
