i searched the forum, and while there are many soundcard problem posts, i couldnt find the answer, and i couldnt solve my problem.

i have an m-audio audiophile 2496 soundcard, and im trying to be able to track my mpc out into nuendo. i can do everything fine, got the sync working without any problems.

the only problem is that i get weird hangups, clicks and pops in my audio recordings. i also sometimes get them when im playing back complex songs in itunes etc or when im playing back a multitrack or midi song in nuendo.

ive tried adjusting the latency, and the buffer settings in the control panel, and in the programs themselves, but i cant seem to get a clean sound. its really difficult, and i need to track out a few beats to sell to someone but i cant get a good quality recording. any ideas? thanks in advance,

i know i should be able to figure this out, but im under some pressure and im not a big computer lover, im more of a hardware guy.

thanks

so adjusting the latency in nuendo does nothing for the clicks? for you sound card do you have a control panel mixer or something like that? I have the delta 66 and I have a software mixer for the sound card with buffer settings.

thanks for your replies... im not using a notebook... and the settings in nuendo dont seem to do anything, neither does the controll panel for the card itself. i still get the same clicks and pops .
