ASR-10 keyboard along with the Akai MPD 16 pads

Need an Opinion

I am thinking of getting the ASR-10 keyboard along with the Akai MPD 16 pads. That way I can program my synth sounds and use the pads for my drums. I prefer using the pads for programming the drums. Would this be a good combination? Or would something else be better? I am working with a budget of about $800. Thanks

Hey,

Why not just get the new Akai MPC 1000? I think it's about $800 (maybe a little more), and it has the pads in it AND a much better sampler, real time effects, computer operability, and much more.

I was considering that but I want the ability to be able to sample a sound and map it across a keyboard, Plus have the drum Pads for my drum programming!

the mpc maps it across the keyboard the same exact way as the mpd does.

the pads map in a different way from keyboard though.

i got the mpd 16, its dope as hell with a few other options many regular midi keyboards dont do such as portamento and the use of expression.
