If you want to buy it you should worry about what someone has done with it ....It's how you use it...Swizz beats made the triton sound like shitbut it's far from a shitty machine...it's not what's been done on it it's what you gonna do with it

i think dj fantom can tell you about it, i can tell you about a triton and that tried out the fantom (im definatly gettin one sooner or later).
i like the touch screen on the triton, and i was more familiar with the triton thats why i got it, but the touch screen makes it alot easier, and faster to make beats, but in the long run if you get a triton all you will end up doin is wantin a fantom, cuz a fantom is more convenient, because you can store up to 16 (exp. to 64mb) of flash samples, that means you can turn it off and the samples will stay there, but you cant do dat shit wit da triton, after about a month or two on the fantom im sure you'll be happy you got it

Yo j malice what's good.
Actualy I don't own a fantom s (yet. Lol) and I had my name b4 I even knew it exsisted but yo inspeckta wu 3 words BUY THE FANTOM S. Yo I garuntee you won't be sorry. I was @ sam ash and the guy from roland was there and he made a hip hop beat right there on the spot. It has on board pro mastering effects. Ur beat will sound pfofessionaly radio ready str8t from the fantom. Im tellin you no lie.
Oh and the skip back samplin feature OMFG.
See the fantom is always recordin even when you don't hit record. As long as its on its capturin stuff into temp. Memory .so if you played a riff and or a melodie and didn't hit record or you was just practicin and played somethin hot. Hit the skip back sampler button and it will display the wave of what you just played and you can incorperate that into ur beat.

And it has midi and usb. You can export you beat as a .wav to ur comp thru usb. . Wowzers.

I WILL HAVE 1 SOON if I have to sell somethings to get it.

Im sure most will agree hands down fantom vs triton. Get the FANTOM.

I have the korg microKontrol midi controler which was sorta modeled after ther fantom s with the 16 pads and keys and all. And I use it to control reason 2.5

But yo in closing GET THE FANTOM S the triton is a thing of the past. Lol

yes you can... the triton studio has 5gb internal hard drive, i save all my songs sequences samples and programs to the hard drive, and evry thing loads up quickly, like 5 seconds.

ive used a fantom before, didnt like it much....
i think the motif is way better.

Yo- that's the best feature of the Triton, hands down. I had the rack, and I couldn't fuck with it. Put me in front of a Triton Classic, and I'm the man. A nice thing about the Triton vs. the Motif/Fantom/whateva is that it's easy to make sample libraries, and with the touchscreen you could do it in your sleep. The triton has a better sound-manipulation engine right out of the box than the other two. (That Fantom is a ROM'pler- I can't fucking stand ROM'plers...)

There is a new triton out its called Triton Extreme. It has a didgital output and input, and usb data sharin, and flash rom (so you can store you samples after you turn it off) and its Less then the triton classic....AINT THAT A BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anyway visit the korg website to find out more. im lookin at the musiciansfrined catalouge so i dont have all the details. This is probably fuckin wit tha fantom....and of course it had new sounds. (*bout time)

rompler ( as in sampler, sequencer, rompler or synth )

a synth that generates sounds by presets ( PCM's ) based in a rom, also known as the internal soundbank. This implies that synthesis is not applied for source emulation or modulation. Envelopes and filters will all be there but it's source can't be tweaked.

Also, I think that the Triton series runns on OASYS OS. developed by Korg way back but never got that succesfull because it dealt with physical modeling, creating complex algorhitmes that can also morph in order to produce sounds that are close to an acoustic instrument's harmonic/formantic behaviour. I believe it was the VL-1 and at that time nobody was waiting for violins, etc from an expensive keyboard, so it never found a customergroup ( there was a lot of virtual analogue doing much better ). Other OASYS driven products are the Wavestation, Prophecy and Trinity.

Yo im in the exact same position. check out the roland website and they have streaming videos of it. peep the NAMM demo videos, i think its demo 3, they make a whole rnb/hip hop track in like three mins!!!!! It sounds amazin and is so simple to use. The wbesite has all the tracks and videos u need. Listen to the demo song "somethin' about your soul" its wicked

oh my bad, i just stumbled in here, i wont be able to let u listen to my stuff cos i aint got them up online yet, if ever. but i use the fantom s.

its an amazing piece of hardware, i did a lot of research on the triton and fantom s b4 getting it so, ill let u in on that. the guy i was getting it from was independent so not just roland flogging their shit.

for starters, i play my roland sounds and my Vst plugins i used to use and the difference is clear (note that i havent been using the £3000 plug ins though), but either way..this was how i worked out the fantom s to be... it saves you getting all these huge gigs of plug ins than only make u need to upgrade ur pc again, it can work like an mpc, it works with any sequencer and has its own. its easier to use than the triton...it came out AFTER the triton studio so..roland have an edge over new stuff.

everyone ususally asks what plug ins i use or if all the sounds are from the fantom due to their quality. the way you can tweak sounds individually is amazing. i would give it a downer on drum sounds for Hip hop and Rnb though.. all other genre's are well catered for drum wise.

but to get the tight sound for HH and rnb, just get some phat plugins for those, the pads on the fantom that u can also use like an mpc are another great feature. so you could just use the drum sample cd yo uget and sample them str8 into the fantom and assign them to the pads.

damn im getting tired explaining this...i havent even finished discovering the fantom...but ill warn you now:
if you have a problem with choice, then dont get the fantom..cos there's so much to choose from in creating your music,

and if all you want is good sounds then go get a keyboard worth a few hundred dollars..cos the fantom (even the trition), is deep, and you MUST read and have sex with the manual and join forums cos...youll just be left with an amazing piece of hardware with no proper direction, cos you could just ignore the "getting to master" the fantom bit, and keep banging out tunes..then later find you frustrated atnot being able to do this or that:headbang: all cos you didnt study the manual.

there are 4 manuals..its all quite extensive but worth it. i'm still a fresher with it, but i saw 2 of my mentor producers praise the fantom-s saying they use it...that was all i needed really to convince me. now theres the fantom -x...annoyingly roland has featured all my complaints about the fantom-s in the X....bastards:headbang: they make you go buy stuff, then 4 months later come out with a newer better version.:bawling:
