Hmmm....I agree to an extent but going back to the early 90's and shit when Dre was the big shot at Death Row and earlier than that when we was the guy behind the boards for NWA, Dre was making the beats and the melodies...so, what that suggest to me is that producers just gotta pay their dues....Dre can produce but if he doesn't have to and still gets paid whilst gettin' credit...I suppose he don't give a shit.

SWISSBEATS WAS HOT BUT WHEN HIS ALBUM CAME OUT HE TRYED TO BE SO DIFFRENT FROM BEFORE THAT IT WAS WHACK AND THE SAD THING IS THAT SWISSBEATS IS CREATIVE AND CHOOSES NOT TO USE IT ANYMORE BECAUSE PEOPLE WERE BITIN HIS STYLE WHEN HE WAS HOT. PEOPLE SHOULD READ THE CREDITS CLEARLY SWISS CO PRODUCED "GOOD TIMES" AND HE IS BEING SUED BY CASIO THATS LIKE 2 YEAR OLD NEWS IM SERIOUS WHEN I MEAN 2 YEAR OLD NEWS. BUT SWISS HAS HAD SOME MAJOR HEADBANGERS LIKE THAT ONE TRACK FROM RYDE OR DYE VOL.2 WITH HIM AND BUSTA RHYMES, ANOTHER ONE WAS SPIT THESE BARS BY DRAG-ON,AND "HOLD THAT" BY KASSIDY THATS ON BIG MIKES THE GETAWAY PART.1 .

*yawn*..... yeah, i know it was old news, but i never heard what came of the situation. by the way, i learned that it was roland, not casio. no, swizz DID NOT- i repeat, DID NOT produce Good Times. we have seen the original ON THIS SIGHT and this wasnt even the site i learned that from. he bought it and changed the drums a little.... big wow. as far as dre being a "real" producer- overlooking the project- thats cool and all- but people need to et a grip and get off the mans nutts cause he aint doin the beats like everyone thinks he is. there are mad heads who are producers in that same respect but get zero credit because they dont carry the status that he does. if i make the beat, my name goes on it, unless its a very pretty penny used to buy it. i aint buying anything from someone else either....

I owned a roland board (rs5)and the ruff ryders theme is one of the presets this was back about 2 years ago.....yes he stole it, what a loser and wack producer.........yeah an imma tell most of you the reason why hot producers buy tracks...or start production camps.........they get way too many projects to work on that need bangers each quarter.......and a lot of times they might not be the same kind of flavor.......and you know how hard it is to make a hot track every time you sit down to start a new track they don't have time to get in a slump and wait until they have a creative day.....

oh I take that back it might not have been the ruff ryders theme but it was one of those tracks that was hot for awhile.....if you ever play the preset you will ask yourself....damn roland put their track in here as a preset...LOL

The man doesn't have a creative bone in his body....he even stopped using the triton and started using the motif and still sounds like a production mess....This man had me affarid to touch a triton in fear of everything sounding like his but I've come to realizes that the machine has more than thescratch and other 5 sounds he used in every track ..And he's making the motif seem like is wack too...But after finding out things about the triton I know the motif is a damn good machine....I wonder who was bitting his style????If you knew what you were talking about you would know that sissy beats bit off of Dame Grease ....You should change your name to captin save a non creative producer

what's funny is that you cats are knocking these producers who managed to make a name for themselves -- whether connections, talent, or whatever (that don't really matter) -- but did you ever stop and think that they were once in your shoes -- and on a national level -- would they cop your track over producer x right now??? -- just put it in perspective people -- so what!!! -- if this producer or that producer doesn't completely touch his entire beat or is wack -- the people who truly appreciate it (average listeners) support them and their work -- too many people judge and criticize without even looking at themselves

and as for dre -- he does have several producers under his wing/camp -- many big names right now were somebody's apprentice along the way -- that's just how the game works now -- either accept it -- or be alone -- word up

the average listener tends to think its not good unless you can dance to it. i stopped showing my tracks to 'the average listener" long ago, because the average listener wouldnt like the track without the rapper oveer it. the average listener doesnt really put any thought into it. cant count how many times i'll hear "it needs words", or "its cool, but i cant dance to this.."

i dont think the issue is that they are wack if they dont do it all themselves, buy it, etc.. its that while they do pay for it and it is technically theirs, it isnt a reflection of their own vision as an artist. isnt saying you like something judging it the same as not liking it? it just does it from a different perspective. when you do anything that has an enetertainment value, it will be picked apart and ravaged by critics. if it wasnt, we would all blindly listen to any and everything put out there. i expect many a critic when i "get there". we wouldnt even be talking about this guy if he didnt make an impact. he still sucks. i'm as positive as the next man, but a spade is aspade.

he is the in house produce for RR so even if he purchased the track and got all the right to it then its a done deal. he probly just changed a few things here and there.

swizz beatz name carries a lot of pull with the radio stations so you figure it out.

some of yall also have to realize that a producer dosent have to make beats he is maily responsible for arranging the song and making sure that the recording session goes smooth to get the best recording possible.

hey

just out of curiosity....

when copenhagen is editing all of your posts, what is he doing?

I'm not going to name names, but I got offered a production deal by a platinum producer a few months ago. He's worked with ALL of the big boys.

Check it out...

he wanted, 1/2 publishing (after going through a publishing co, that would leave me with 1/4 publishing at the most), 1/2 royalties, 1/2 of the flat fee........oh, and it was a 5 year, exclusive deal...how fucked up is that???...when I said that I wanted to negotiate, they acted like i didnt exist anymore......hahaha...funny.

all that I could think about after that...was how many producers had they jacked of their rights, and their creativity.

I really wanted to sign, but man....you gotta be kiddin' me.

so on that "accept it or be alone" comment....

I'm alone up in this bitch....but I can sell 50000 units in my city, gettin 6 bones per album...not to mention, I'm no one's slave....

Why don't you ask the man himself... ;)

drew_petti, most of the time I'm simply putting 2 posts together because a lot of people haven't learned to use the edit button when they forget stuff...so they just write a new post just after the last one. not so often, I might remove links to people who promote themselves other places than in the showcase forum or in their signature etc etc...
