Anyone going to D.C. for the inauguration?

I was just wondering who was going and what you got planned.

I am going. I just bought a bunch of winter sh*t because coming from Arizona, 20-30 degree weather is going to be a bit of a stretch for me. EPMD is performing but I got vetoed by my group. I guess I am the only EPMD fan in my group of road trippers.

I rented a TUX and sh*t just in case I get to go to some ball or something but as of right now, I have no Ball tickets.

If you can fly or drive to D.C. you can go. Everyone is hosting some sort of party or ball. You have to buy tickets or get invited to go to the fancy sh*t. Everything is expensive and marked up and hotel rooms are crazy expensive.

As far as actually seeing Obama get sworn in, it will be next to impossible. There will be so many people there it is going to be stoopid packed. I don't really want to go, but I got guilt tripped into it. I'm hoping the crazy cold weather will thin out the crowd. But we'll see. I just wanna eat a bunch of bad food and I am going to take a bunch of pics and post them.

I am extremely worried about this. All my life I have been the "see I told you so guy". I really hope nothing bad happens. This is a historical event and I don't want this to be a "bad" chapter in our history as far as assassinations and terrorism go. I want to be able to tell my kids good stories about what happened when I went, you know?

The economy is bad enough.

We don't need a super tragedy.

Ohh, to answer your question Steez. Anyone can go up there, but you need tickets to see all the dope stuff. So I will be sort of tailgating if you will. There are parades and parties and stuff.

I def don't have cash to be throwing around. But the argument is this is a once on a lifetime type of thing. I would rather spend the doe on CD pressings and more equipment.

The problem we are running into now is that there are going to be so many people up there, everything is going to be packed. And I hate crowds. So I was trying to see if anyone had a plan of action if they went up there.

I basically have to come up with the itinerary for 8 people.

So far I got us hitting up all the free stuff, LOL.

i'm still undecided. I know i'm not going to work that day because its gonna be hectic getting to work and coming home. and my wife dosnt want to go because of the crowd plus they are not letting NO ONE into D.C. until after 7am. driving into D.C. is impossible aswell as getting out. the metro is gonna be crazy as well. i may go to one of the shows or the Inagural Ball later that night b/c my mother in law got us tickets.

I will be going to the inauguration and all the balls, via my big 1080 TV!
The lodging will be nice and much cheaper, as well as the drinks, I took that day off, so anyone in the area who wants to come party with me that day come on!

I'll be doing a bunch of events during the Inauguration.

I'll be working as an affiliate for a bunch of traditional news stations throughout the country that can't make it here for whatever reason.

I got invited to a formal ball hosted by some NFL players in DC. I'll have the suit on for that one.

The Hip-Hop inaugural ball with T.I. Jeezy, Russell Simmons' hip-hop action network is going down on Monday. I'm scheduled to be there but we'll see.

Do Not Drive Into DC. You'll regret that one if you do. I'm getting the feeling this will be like Howard Homecoming, the Super Bowl, and the Grammys all wrapped in one. DC is buzzing right now and I love it!

i live here and im tryin tah leave. theres goin to be 4-6 time the normal amount of people. ambulance and police gonna be real slow to react. your probbably better of staying at home watchin it on the screen i mean your just gonna be watchin it on a jumbo tron anyway. bars and resteraunts are going to be empty in a few days most places dont have enough room to store the food and booze.
