Any advice on speakers!!???

Im looking to buy speakers for my pc any advice???

Buy a good soundcard first (preferrably external).
Then I'd recommend a set of powered studio monitors (events/tannoys/jbl/etc). Add a sub or two as needed.

if you're looking for nearfield's you wont beat the KRK V8's for all around quality.

did anybody used the Alesis Monitor One Active 520? i don't have a big budget for speakers, or should i wait and spend my money on something better?

Like robb_lowe said, the KRK line is what u should look at.
Either the RP5's or RP6's.
And Symphonic I have never used the Alesis, but u should see if u can go in store and just listen to em.
Thats the best thing 2 do.

I had a pair of the Rokits and sold them about year and a half ago... shouldn't have.

Looking back through my catalogue, the beats I made during that time were punchy and translated very well to cd.

I have a pair of Alesis Monitor One's they are ok, the bass response is a bit inaccurate but I have mixed many albums on them. go to my site and listen to the fourth time around songs, they where mixed on the Monitors ones

I too had a pair of monitor ones and I had to get another set cause of the lack of bass so I went with the EVENT 20/20s http://www.event1.com/Products/20_20/20_20.html

they have a better bottom end for Hip Hop production.

ok, i don't have monitors so i can't realy hear the diffrence i think i'm used to hifi speakers and headphones so monitors will all sound good at the begining. i'm mixing with headphones and that sucks on the low freq.

I am considering the Yamaha HS80M. They cost around 300, but it's probably the best you can get for such a budget.

And how about a subwoofer? do you need one if you would buy small monitors?
