Another problem...

So the only thing I really need to make my beats sound perfect now, is how to make the bass hits not over lap each other. For example with 808's, if one hit comes almost directly after the other; the bass doesn't really sound that good. I don't really know how to explain this well, but any tips would be appreciated. I think side chain compression is the answer to your problem. Or some careful eqing on both the standard kick and the subby 808. Cut higher bass freqs on the 808 and cut the boomy lower freqs on the normal kick. Dont cut the freqs completely just reduce them till you fix the problem. I think what you describe could be down to frequency clash, causing clipping.
 
Yeah frequency clash sounds about right. I'm sort of beginner when it comes to producing right now but I'm learning everyday. Thanks for y'all help, I appreciate it.
